Flew from Beijing to Shenzhen on business. Before I have taken business on China Eastern, China Southern, and Hainan Airlines, and I think the seats are pretty good and has a legitimate level of privacy.

Took a flight from Shanghai to Beijing at night. There is a special check in for Shanghai - Beijing flights even if you are in economy, which is very convenient. Many apps say that there is wifi, but you can only access the Aiar China in flight website with limited movies. I selected this flight on purpose to test the Cmac C919, but really it is basically the Boeing 737 but with thinner seats and slightly less legroom.

AIR CHINA SHARE PRIVATE CUSTOMER DATA! DO NOT USE THEM! THEY DON'T ADHERE TO GDPR OR PIPL. I have received others customers flight details including they're full names, information about their flight, passport details, how they paid etc. I have called and emailed to get in contact about this however their customer service agents on the phone just ignore me when I inform about this and refuse to let me speak to any managers/supervisors. Customer service is a joke, they do not reply to emails and I have spent over 3 hours on the phone with them in total and they have not resolved any of my issues, I have still haven't received my own flight itinerary from them despite calling and emailing on multiple occasions and their service agents promising to email it over to me. One of their own staff members have informed me that her computer doesn't work properly so when she takes payments over the phone, so she has to note down my bank details and use another colleague's computer to make payments. STAY WELL CLEAR OF AIR CHINA.

The worst airline of all time! Website and App are horrible, making online check in not possible. For example, on app, you cannot check in if you do not have a Chinese phone number. When you enter a code of a different country, it defaults back to Chinese. For long flights it is so crucial to be able to select a seat before all the good ones are taken. After 2 hours of trying and multiple customer care calls which brought zero result, I have last row middle seats on both of my flights (24+ hours journey time). Unbelievable!!! Customer care is totally useless as well: they cannot do anything about not working online check in and are not even able to tell at what time airport check in closes. This is the very least they should be able to advise. On the flight there is very little leg room (even for me with 165 cm highly), the wine they serve is of very poor quality, the meals are rather small. I will never fly with them again!

Flew from Warsaw to Taipei via Beijing on AirBus330 - 300 and Airbus 320. The price of the tickets was good and it was the only connection to Taipei which didn't require a 10 hour-long overnight layover. The overall experience is simply okay. Nothing special. The seats on the A330 were a nightmare, I've had more leg room on a Ryanair flights. The entertainment centre was old and hard to figure out. It took me a while to find the movies and I've noticed some passengers didn't manage at all. However, the selection of films was good in my opinion. The food was fairly okay. I don't know really how the staff was because I didn't require any special help but for me they seemed fairly okay. There was much more leg room on the A320. Both ways there was no problem with the luggage. The staff at the airport in Taipei was lovely. Overall experience is okay, I believe the price of the tickets is adequate to the quality.

We traveled to Beijing from Houston late October with tickets bought in May. We arrived at the airport to be told the flight was canceled due to aircraft problems to be told the following day that was a lie. Apparently, air China canceled both Friday and Sunday flights months ago but didn’t tell everybody. Now changing a very long, costly international flight is already a very poor customer service, but not making absolutely sure everyone realizes such a major change has happened is the worst I have ever seen in an airline. To make matters worse we had to fight to get a hotel and were sent to a very very poor, dirty one. Food was promised to be included but we got there only the buffet consisting of cold chicken nuggets and old eggs were included. Real food had to be paid. They also have no wi fi available. I travel a lot, have used multiple American and European airlines, being frequent flyer on several. Air China is the worse. Ever.

I am a 100% local China citizen, I took a flight Kunming to Beijing The flight delayed 1 hour because Beijing Air is busy, But that is acceptable Then on the flight, they give me a "fancy" breakfast a Porridge yes a Porridge, Water+Rice=Porridge why? low-quality food detected. Also their entrainment it's just an MP3 Music player, and their freaking headphones are can not use with phones. But other things are perfect.

I took my flight from New York to Bombay via Beijing. First the flight got delayed for 4 hours at Beijing airport stating the reason that there is no fuel in the plane. This is very negligence on a part of international airline that they didn't check for fuel, it’s like keeping the life of customer at risk. When I reached Mumbai Airport, I didn't get my baggage there and airline employee informed me that my baggage is at Beijing airport, they forgot to transfer my bag to the connecting flight. I got my bags after 4 days at my home with my expensive items missing from my bag. AirChina's customer service is very bad and they take no responsibility for their customer's safety and product security. I have contacted them several time but got no proper response. Since my bags was with AirChina entire time it was their responsibility to deliver my bags on time, but it didn't occur and when I got my bags my items were missing. AirChina is taking no responsibility to help me find my items or compensate me for the loss. Worst service when it comes to safety and security.

Customer service is non-existent, they do not know what they are doing I am not sure why they are still allowed to operate in the united states My luggage was cut open with a knife and items were stolen while my luggage was in their case. Air china will not replace the luggage or the items, instead telling me that I should have used my common sense to know that I should not put "items of value' in my luggage. Take another airline on any trip - It is not worth the time and money. Spend a little more and have comfort and safety and most of all peace of mind

Due to the airline delaying a flight, I missed my transfer (even though the ground staff assured me that I would not), and had to spend 26 hours travelling instead of 9. I spent 9 hours freezing in Beijing airport with no accommodation offered and another 4 hours in Incheon. Staff were extremely unprofessional, preferring to chat among themselves rather than helping a customer in need. Food was terrible. Luggage was handled haphazardly. Terrible experience.

I have recently flown multiple flights with Air China, being Auckland to Beijing return on flights CA784 and 783, Beijing to Chengdu return, flights CA 1405 and 1408. I had read a number of reviews when I booked these flights so was not expecting too much, that said I went ahead and booked flights to China. (For the record I am a regular flyer with Air NZ, Qantas, American and United) I booked our flights on the Air China website, when doing so, make sure you have your passport details ready as you will need them. Remember in most cases you'll need to get a visa for China. A day before travel I was able to select my seats and print off my boarding pass for the internal flight. Could not print the international boarding pass. Check in at AKL was slow as ground staff (Air NZ) needed to ensure passport and visas were in order, also some time was spent explaining how your bags could be directed to your final destination in China without the need to clear customs at Beijing (this was a great service). Boarding out of AKL was OK. Food on the plane was quite good, just remember to choose the western food as the Chinese options may not be to your liking. I have read reviews about people saying the Chinese porridge for breakfast is ghastly, whether you have this porridge on a plane or in a smart hotel, the porridge in any place is ghastly. The beverages were in keeping with what Chinese patrons would have expected, so no sparkling wines, or white wines though if you like a strong red you'll be in luck. All of our flights were on 787 Dreamliner except for one on a 777 300 so all good here. IFE was as good as other airlines I fly (noted earlier) With Air China if you pay attention to the detail, then you'll be alright. Their website is slow so be patient. Despite some small niggles these were vastly offset by the extremely competitive price we paid to travel with them. The other flights we took with Air China were similar to the AKL to Beijing flights, all being punctual.

Never, ever fly with this company. Their website doesn't work, they're impossible to get a hold of by phone & they never return calls. They left my daughters & I stranded at JFK airport for 26 hours with little communication until others on our flight rioted. Air China allegedly hadn't paid their airport tax so the airport wouldn't give thematic gate. Their in flight staff ignored my request for some more water & their English was very poor making all communication difficult. I suppose with 1.3 billion customers they don't need to be courteous to foreigners.

I had flight from Incheon to Dusseldorf via Beijing. I had more than 7 hours of layover in Beijing airport and when I arrived in Dusseldorf, I found that my bag is still stuck in Beijing. It was New year's eve so the airport agent in the Dusseldorf airport told me it will take 2-3 days. It arrived after 3 days with broken baggage. I contacted their email and called them to China, Korea, European office. None of them answers phone calls neither the emails I sent them. Refund my broken baggage and compensation that you sent my luggage after 3 days while I had so much essentials goods from Korea! I will never take Airchina ever again and tell all my colleagues and friends and family members from taking your flight.

My travel agent booked my flights to Macau from Sydney by Air China & Code sharing Air Macau (via Beijing). It was a journey and experience which I would like rather like to forget. Total apathy and disrespect to passengers causing immense discomfort. Firstly - ringing the Air China office in Sydney gets no response - no one cares to answer. Hold for 1 hour and disconnect!!! If you want to do web check in - BAD luck - the site would not open - keep trying!! Luckily if you get connected - it will never take you to end the complete check-in. At the airport - no boarding passes - re check-in at Beijing. At Beijing - no check in counter open that time - Long Wait! International transfer was a joke - 1 km long queue for security check (Not moving for 1 hour as there was only one counter open!! In flight service is forgettable experience - lucky if they understand English! Pathetic food! If you have ordered special meal - forget about it!! Return journey was even worse !! NEVER TRAVEL by Air China - avoid at all costs!

The flight was supposed to take off from Mumbai, India on Sep-20-2017 at 2:35 AM. It was delayed dues to heavy rainfalls which is completely understandable. The problems were - 1) Air China staff at mumbai airport never confirmed the status of flight or any developments. They did not liked people asking questions and replied to every concern/query rudely and denied any responsibility or accountability. Cant blame them, looks like Air china have employed college dropouts looking to kill time and make easy money. 2) No announcements were made about rescheduling of flight or new flight timings. 3) By 6 am, all Air China crew disappeared IRRESPONSIBLY leaving all the passengers hanging. 4) No new boarding passes or tickets were arranged. They are necessary in case Passengers leave the airport and want to enter back to board flight at rescheduled time as per Airport security rules. No guidance was provided in this regards. We called Air China customer support. Obviously they had no idea, what was happening on airport. They spoke very irresponsibly. Worst part was , they had no new information, provided no assistance in letting us know new flight timings. On top of that they transferred the call to Beijing office numerous times where no one picked up the call. 5) Other airlines helped escorting passengers out of airport while your staff just ran away. We have filed a complaint with Department of Transportation. Ref no- ML2017090059.

First time flying with Air China and I felt this was worse than a budget Airline! None of the staff were kind, the plane was so old and unclean, no personal TV for a 10 hour flight.... And the main TV was only playing advertising. Not to mention the food was bread and one piece of cabbage. No thanks I will not fly with this company again unless it's half price and I'm prepared for this terrible service.

I bought a round trip ticket with Air China from Los Angeles to Manila vv. The flight going to Manila was 8 hours delayed. And my flight going back to Los Angeles was 5 hours delayed. All I got after buying cheap tickets from them were worst services. I missed all my (connecting) domestic flights because of the delayed they've caused. Thus, I ended up spending additional $600 for new domestic tickets. Don't go with this airline. Staff doesn't even speak well English. You don't have the voice as a customer with this airline.

It was the worst experience I ever had travelling with this airline. The staffs at the counter were rude and lack customer service. None of them could speak proper English, the cabin crews were also not able to speak properly and language is definitely a barrier. My flight got delayed both ways, worst of all the air craft had to turn back to shanghai after taking off an hour travelling back to Melbourne. Couldn't understand the announcements made, it was such an awful experience. Had to wait 3 hours to be boarded on another plane but the staffs weren't very nice . I hated the whole experience travelling with them...left insecure and terrified.

Worst airline. Why? - delayed my parents flight by 17 hours (no reason given) - connecting flight from Beijing to Vancouver got delayed as well (in total 23 hours delay) - customer service is worst and their phone service to reach out to their CSR's is pathetic. No one answers, disconnects in between My parents are seniors and i cannot tell you what they went through. My only mistake was (which i will regret for my life) to book a cheaper flight off stupid Facebook ad. Please please do yourself and your family a favor DO NOT book with Air China. Worst airline and customer service I have ever seen. All 3 flights so far have been delayed. They ruined my honeymoon in Thailand with my wife and made me miss all of my business meetings in NY by being delayed over 7 hours for now reason. They claimed it was due to bad weather in Beijing but weather.com showed that it was beautiful weather in Beijing and in Bangkok. Made us sleep in airport without even providing hotel accommodations. We paid $6,000 each for our business class tickets so a total of $12,000 and were treated in the worst way possible. When speaking to the representative they said the best they can do it give me access to the lounge at the airport (which we already had access too since we were business class) Absolutely the worst. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I flew Air China from Sydney to Paris via Beijing on 17 June 2017 and back to Sydney via shanghai on 7 July 2017. Over all I had a great experience. My ticket cost $1300 return in peak season so I wasn't expecting the world, plus I read such bad reviews that I was honestly prepared for the flight from hell. The opposite was true. Great flight, no turbulance at all on either flight, food was decent, movies were fine (not too many western movies but I like foreign movies so that was ok) and the crew were nice enough. They are not as smiley and bubbly as some other airlines but they are polite and professional and got me to Europe safely which is all I care about. The only annoying part of the journey with Air China is you cannot check your luggage straight through to Sydney via shanghai. You have to collect your baggage at shanghai and check them in again before the next flight. That was the only inconvenience but again, still not the end of the world. I would definitely fly Air China again - I loved the 14 hour tour of the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square and forbidden city during our stop over. Don't let the bad reviews stop you flying Air China. People are way too fussy!

This is the worst airline I have ever flown on. After cancelling the flight due to bad weather even though there wasn't a cloud in the sky the transfer desk asked us to leave the airport to arrange a replacement flight out home. It then went from Bad to worst. At every single desk: lost baggage, international ticket counter and duty manager there was a 1.5 hour wait and each staff took 20 minutes to direct us to another desk, all of them unable to give us a solution until we insisted by being very loud and pushy. The staff were very unprofessional, unhelpful and had very poor English and communication skills. We missed the first replacement flight because it took us 3 hours to get passes so they arranged a hotel (the only good thing they did to compensate the flight transfer mishap) which we only got to at midnight, which means we waited in queues and were in transit no mans land for 14 hours. The seats themselves were very uncomfortable and small, the food looked like dog food, the taste was under average for airplane food. The cheap tickets are not worth it. Better pay $500 more for an efficient, half decent service. Never going to use them again

The Air China airline is lacking on many fronts. Their web check-in service is useless. The web page does not progress after you have chosen the options in the first page. This results in reaching the airport quite early and still not getting the seats of your choice. The connecting flights at Beijing airport have window of 1 to 1.30 hours. The passenger choses such cutting-too-fine timings with the assumption that since both the connecting flights are operated by same airline (Air China), there would be some arrangement at the airport (by the airline) to facilitate smooth transfer of passengers. Actually, nothing of this sort happens. Not even basic assistance like information is provided. The customer care is too impersonal. The attitude of staff is also unfriendly. They may be acting professional but they look like too dry while attending to any passenger. Language is also a big problem. Many of the hostesses and front desk executives openly state that they cannot speak english.

Flew Air China from Sydney to Beijing and Paris and back via Shanghai. I was not expecting a lot of Air China, got the economy tickets very cheap compared to other airlines. But it was a very nice experience with great service and good food served. The seats were not super, however they were not bad, and the legroom was OK compared to other air lines. The in-flight entertainment was not the best where 80 movies our of 100 were Chinese, but the majority of passengers were also from China, so maybe fair enough for everybody. I will use them again, if they keep prices below air lines like Thai Air, Singapore Air and Emirates.

Flew Air China from Melbourne to Shanghai, then from shanghai to Frankfurt. Both relatively long flights. I had paid for the seat selection (window seat) and when boarding, found my seat had been taken. Spoke with cabin crew who were not willing to do anything about it. Seat room isn't great - we were also told handheld devices couldn't be used (I usually use a PSP on long flights - kills the time). Food was good, though. I can't say I would fly them again though, largely due to the seat room. Cabin crew speak some basic English, not really enough to solve any disputes that may occur though.

On May 2nd I used Air China to fly from Beijing to South Africa. I paid an extra 600 rmb for an extra large seat so that I could be more comfortable. Once on the flight I found that 2 other passengers had decided to also upgrade themselves without bothering to pay for their seats. On arrival in south Africa I called up your branch in Johannesburg and spoke to two of the most unhelpful and rude people in the world, Jane and Brad. I am not sure how you have such incompetent people working the front desk. They have both been the most unhelpful and rude people I have ever encountered in my life. I expect either a refund as I paid for an extra large seat while others received it free of charge, or I expect to be upgraded on my flight back to china. I have pictures of all of these as well as recording which I will be posting to your Facebook as well as weibo accounts

Air china flight from Tokyo to Sydney did not inform us of an extra leg from Beijin to Shanghai. Our ticket said Tokyo Beijing Sydney, not Tokyo Beijing Shanghai Sydney! And I flew with my wife having booked two adjacent seats which the attendant at gates changed by scribbling something on the boarding pass. We complained on board and after so much effort we could make the non English speaking attendants understand the problem. Funny thing is an attendant asked me, a native English speaking guy from Sydney, whether I speak English!!! They gave us some stale veggie food to eat during the service, maybe as a tit for tat action for our argument. When I said we were not vegetarians she pretended not to understand. 4 flights with Air China - 3 out of 4 were delayed for more than 2 hours. Also the seating was really really tiny - maybe for very tiny and thin Asian ladies but not European guys. Especially the one from Germany to Beijing. The flight takes more than 10 hours and you can't let people sit in such a small seat. It's actually shocking. The stewardesses were totally rude if you wanted something. When my husband woke up after sleeping during the flight and missed out of the food, he asked for something to eat. They gave him some crackers. I thought it was a joke but it wasn't. In our other flights we tried the food and it was seriously not eatable. I know that airplane food is usually not good but this was so bad that we couldn't finish it. Also the entertainment was horrible. We had 1 small TV for about 6 rows at our 5 hour flight. So we didn't even have a real entertainment. On the other flight, each of us had his/her own tv but it was a very bad picture so that we didn't want to watch a movie at all. I booked premium economic class of Air China CA986 from San Francisco to Beijing on April 8th. When I checked in, the ground staff told me that Air China changed airplane, so there is no Premium Economic Class. She asks me if I want to change my seat to first row of Economic class or refund. I want my refund, so Air China ground staff put a stamp on my boarding pass and signed it, and then asked me to find Air China staff for refund at Beijing airport. I went to Air China Internal Ticket Counter at Beijing Airport for refund. However the staff said my ticket was issued at USA and they CAN NOT process the refund to me. The staff asks me to call Air China US office for refund. I called Air China US customer service asks for refund when I back to US. Per Air China staff requested, I email my April 8th boarding pass photo. On April 22nd, I got a phone call from Air China. April/05/2017 on-board CA985 PEK/SFO my wife LAU at 41H, being on-going intimidated/stigmatized deliberately/intentionally by woman 41F, showed concern to the crew CHOW PANG face-to-face standing at the kitchen area. Without being alert, the woman dashed towards and hit/pushed the back of my wife (crew CHOW witnessed everything) whose momentum was so great causing my wife fell on the floor with her head hit against hard object resulting injury on her head (bleeding and her hand full of blood). Then chief purser (siu lau) presented and called 2 doctors on board to treat my wife. non-stop bleeding. Upon arriving SFO 3 hours later, SFPD Borders Protection & Ambulance and only 1 AirChina personnel Victoria Li (she never responded to my calls) were at gate for investigation. My wife then taken to Mills Peninsula ER for immediate procedure (doctor's findings: injury caused by physical assault with 9 staples on her head still bleeding). It is obvious that AC is supreme non-professional in handling incidents, is tolerating on-board violence, and above all, super committed negligence to injured passenger.

The flight from Taipei to New York seems a bit cheaper on the surface but there's a 14 hour layover in Beijing. So you need a hotel for that. Which, with a bit of drama I managed. Don't get the hotel in the terminal, get the one outside. Yes, they don't answer the phone, but it's still a valid if ultra ghetto place to sleep. More seriously when I got to NY I found the lock on my suitcase was broken. Checking I found the following missing 1) An old Windows laptop 2) Some designer clothing that would cost a few hundred bucks to replace. 3) My iPod and iPad I.e. all the stuff that went missing is also the kind of thing you could sell pretty easily. Now I've asked them for compensation but they're diligently stonewalling me with 'this is not the right number', 'you must claim within 7 days'. Even though I've called all the numbers and the emails they've sent me show someone in Air China got their documents emailed back inside the 7 day window. Right now they're just ignoring emails. Another interesting thing they said was 'did it have a lithium ion battery?". The Windows laptop didn't as it happened. The iPod and iPad obviously did. But does that mean they can steal them?

I will never fly with air china again as having to collect baggage in shanghai and go through customs and security checks to get back on the same airline sucked. We were given no explanation as to why or any help from airline staff. We needed to collect 5 suitcases and clear customs and recheck in for a flight in 90 minutes. We flew air china from Tokyo and were not given boarding passes all the way through but were simply told we will have to collect our luggage and check in again all in less than 2 hours. The flight from Tokyo was delayed by 30 mins so this gave us just less than 90 minutes to make the flight back to Sydney which we did by 3 minutes but not without tears, stress and arguments. We arrived back in Sydney exhausted.

Please don`t ever fly with Air China. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I paid for our seats online prior to leaving Canada and had to make some minor changes to our seat selection before we left and they still have yet to reimburse me $300 Canadian. That was 6 weeks ago. I have called the customer service line 7 different times and have been given 7 different excuses. I refuse to allow this to happen and will continue to call until I have my money back. On another note, while we were away I was injured and had to have surgery. The surgeon wrote me a fit to fly letter explaining that I must have the capability to lay down for my flight home (he was concerned about a blood clot) and that I required a business class seat. I was refused this even though business class had over 10 available seats that remained empty for the 11 hour flight back to Canada. I was very obviously stitched, bruised, and injured with a cast on my leg and crutches and each and every member of Air China refused to help me with changing seats. They all flat out said ``No, there is nothing we can do to help you``. Those were their exact words!!

I chose Air China because of the price, it was cheaper than any other Airline. The food and drinks were fair, nothing outstanding but adequate . The staff were friendly and polite. These points combined were fair and I was satisfied. However, there were some negatives that id like to point out too. The in flight entertainment system is shocking. The system is slow and lags, making a smooth user experience impossible. Using the operational pad to navigate through the contents of the system was frustrating as it was broken and certain buttons didn't work. There is a poor selection of movies in English. This is understandable because most of the customers are native Chinese speakers, but if im basing it on my experience as a native English speaker, this aspect wasnt great. Finally, the seats were not comfortable for a 24 hour international flight. Not much space to move and generally not comfortable for this duration of flight. I really wanted to recommend Air China, but because of these negative factors I have to say no. If these issues could be addressed, id gladly fly with Air China again but until then I would stay away. Cheap price but not good value if you're not comfortable.

I have recently flew with Air China and it was the worst flight of my life so far! The seats were uncomfotable with no leg room The food was cold and bland & the rice was stale! My melon had mould on it! It was an 11.5 hour direct flight to London and only got offered 3 drinks the whole journey! I had 3 screaming children the whole flight sitting next to me who the parents couldnt control. I asked if i could move seats but was told their were no spare ones yet i saw some!! My flight was not cheap and i was disgusted that i could be charged the amount I was for such a terrible experience! I will not be flying with Air China again and will not recommend them to friends or family either!

My flight was first delayed by more than 12 hours and I was made to miss MY CONNECTING FLIGHT from Beijing. I was still asked to board this flight from India by Air China staff even though they knew that they wont be able to provide me connecting flight. So they lied to me. After reaching china the rude staff again told me that we don't know which your next flight will be, and i have to go and talk to the ticket office in the morning, and it was 11.30 in night. I was sent to a hotel whose staff was very rude and denied to help or cooperate. Once somehow after managing to reach to the airport in the morning (I had no China money) i had to run around the ticket office so i can find the flight for US. I was left stranded in another country just like that with no further information. I cried in front of the staff but they didn't help. After fighting at ticket office for long time, i was given next flight for 8 hours later, and i had to spend entire day on Beijing airport and my luggage was also not transferred to the next flight. I had to stand 3 hours in front of lost and found to pick my luggage for next check in. And staff didn't speak English.

We chose Air China because of 1- the low cost to go to Thailand from Montreal 2- Only 1 stop to Beijing compared with other airlines with 2 stops. I was "afraid" because of the bad comments (rating 4/10). But I was completely satisfied : all was perfect. The flight was on time, and we even arrived sooner than annonced when we came back. Service was excellent and we didn't have to pay for alcooholic beverages. Food was OK. We spent 19h onboard and I recommend this airline.

Totally unreliable. I happened to travel with air China from Mumbai to Raleigh,NC,US. I had booked direct flight ticket from Raleigh to Mumbai and return. I had 4 international flights with air China. New York to Beijing and Beijing to new York. Each of these flights was delayed. On the return journey it took me 75 hours to reach home. All because of carelessness of air China. As the first flight from Mumbai to Beijing was delayed I missed the connecting flight to New York. Me with many others were given an overnight hotel stay where we were forced to share the room and take the same flight the next day. As I was a vegetarian my food preferences were not transferred over to new flight and I had to starve on the 13 hour long flight. The connecting flight to New York was delayed as well due to which I missed my connecting flight to Raleigh. On asking for a rebook air China officials said jet blue would do it as the earlier new York to Raleigh flight was with jet blue. After changing the terminals with the luggage of 5 bags, I the individual traveller was told jet blue cannot do anything about it and the air China customer care should help.

Cabin crew disappeared after serving first meal. This was a 14 hour flight. There was no liquor available. The crew held on to the beer as if it were gold. I don"t drink beer but a fellow passenger tried to get some but was almost thwarted by the cabin police.

We have flown Air China before and have been happy with what we got - good and cheap. However, this time, our flight home from London to Sydney via Beijing was wholly unpleasant. On the first leg, they almost immediately ran out of beverages. I got a rationed sip of beer froth - my partner's request for a Pepsi went unanswered. Then after enduring the overbearing military grunt at Beijing Airport, we found ourselves squished into a 3-4-3 layout, 777. Absolutely packed in like sardines. While cruising, and with my phone on flight mode, I got chastised by a flight attendant for 'using my phone' and despite my best pleas to explain to him that it was in flight mode, I had to switch it off. Several other passengers suffered the same abuse. Then came supper, consisting of one finger of bread with some sort of SPAM substitute and another with nothing more than a smear of mayonnaise. Any time the plane had the slightest wobble there was this long and whining pre-recorded announcement about 'suspending the (non existent) hot drinks service' due to turbulence. What turbulence? EDITORS COMMENT: Apparently most Chinese airlines don't let you have your phone on even in flight mode but we are unsure as to why.

Air China was the absolute worst airline I have ever experienced in my life! Where do I start? My family of 7 had a flight from BKK to PEK to JFK to CLT on 1/1/16 departing at 1:40pm & when we got to BKK expecting to fly out on time, (bc there was no email from Air China of any changes) we found out after asking airport personnel why we couldnt see our flight on the screens. Come to find out our flight had been delayed until after 4pm. We realized we were going to miss our connection flight, so after asking other airport personnel to help us fix this problem, we were told to be first in line for when the check in process opened,, in 2 more hours, we can explain our problem to the agent & they would help us. Needless to say, we were first in line and waited almost 2 hours to have it fixed to where things ended up disastrous! We had to stay overnight in Beijing & then connect to JFK the next day. That was an horrible experience. We got to Beijing at 10pm & customs took 2 hours to get through bc there was only 1 agent tending to 100 people who flew in. They didn't care that we were tired, w/ kids, hungry, & most importantly that it wasn't our fault. No one said sorry. Not enough space

Took ca820 with a GF meal request. I often take this route with other cariers and i have had more positive although not great flights with CA. Positives: none that come to mind and certainly nothing that any other carrier would not provide. Negatives: in flight entertainent was incredibly outdated with few movies in english. Cabin temperature was too warm but not boiling hot as it has been my experience with CA. Food was by far the worst GF meal that i ever received in a flight. There are only two meals, no snack, and the meals are spaced 10hrs apart. Overall a terrible experience based on food and entertainment even tough the staff was pleasent enough. Would certainly avoid this carrier as consistency is a huge probleme, or maybe it is more accurate to state that they are consistently poor to mediocre. EDITORS COMMENT: these days all airlines only offer two meals in economy on long haul flights. Snacks are always available upon request.
