Disappointed with Volaris flight 116 (MEX-CUN). Denied boarding despite full fare, long delays, poor staff communication, and confusion at the gate. No response from Volaris after contacting them. This caused major inconvenience and stress. Unacceptable service

Had a flight from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. When arriving at the airport, was told the flight was overbooked and they did not have a seat for me and my brother. Was forced to wait all day until boarding was finished. Given a hotel room to stay overnight and was booked flights for the next day but had to pay a $38 peso fee for the hotel room which was incredibly aggravating. Was given nicer seats on the next flights but no food or services were provided on the flights. Neither were we monetarily compensated for the entire day wasted or the money we had to spend for food while staying at Guadalajara airport for 8 hours waiting for a connecting flight. Only given a complementary breakfast at the hotel in the morning. Overall, pretty terrible experience and would not fly again.

Volaris Airline is a complete scam. They regularly overbook their flights then will randomly select people to be denied boarding. In my case, my husband and I were denied boarding due to the fact that we are members of the LGBTQ community. The woman (Angie) at the boarding desk called us gay slurs while denying us boarding. Then to make matters worse the company refused to give us a refund even though we were involuntarily denied boarding (which according to the Department of Transportation requires customers to be refunded). This company is not safe to travel with. They just want to steal your money, they have no intention of providing a service.

Worst flights ever. Flying into Mexico, the delayed our flight by 3 hours and didn’t allow refunds even though it was due to short staff. Then we went to their agency to do the online reservation confirmation and we added 1 suitcase and they stated it was $350. I asked if it would be in US dollars or Mexican pesos. They stated Mexican pesos. I then proceeded to add on 2 suitcases. My total came out to almost $5,000 pesos. I asked why it was that price and she stated “it was a mistake and it was in dollars not pesos. Then stated she couldn’t remove one suitcase because it had already been added. When we ORIGINALLY asked if would be in US dollars or pesos. Next on our return flight we were delayed for over 3 hours due to engine issues. Didn’t move us to another plane/ another flight just had us sitting while we waited. Worst airline ever. They love scamming peoples money and time.

This airline is completely horrible. Do not book with this airline if you do not have to. They delay flights consistently. They will cancel flights and merge them with much later flights to save themselves money. They scam you with fees. Viva Aerobus is better lol.

I had a very frustrating experience on my last flight with Volaris from Zacatecas to Chicago. I noticed there were at least 3 families with minors that were given separate seats. I had a 9, 16 and 18 year old traveling with me, we bought our tickets together and still none of us got to sit together. To me, it seems that Volaris is separating families and companions that buy their tickets together to force passengers to pay for seat selection. I did my check-in immediately after the 24 hour allowed it. In the vicinity where I was seated, I saw there were at least two couples that were also separated. Besides this making flying less comfortable it doesn't help with maintaining some separation from strangers during this pandemic. It doesn't make sense to be splitting families apart just to make a profit. I strongly believe they purposefully do this to force passengers to pay more for seat selection. Since we opt out of paying for the seat selection, they make the choices inconvenient instead of just sitting families together. There were a few passengers around me that were traveling alone, they did not pay extra for their seats.

I'm very very disappointed, frustrated and upset with this airline! My 12pm flight was canceled on my way to the airport in Tijuana. I live about 3 hours away so by the time I was notified it was to late to turn back. To top it all off, there were no available flights until 10pm!! After having to wait for so long, my flight still got delayed until 12am. My daughter gets married in the morning and here I was in the airport tired, hungry and more. This airline is a piece of crap and gives 0 s&/*s about its customers. Be ready for unprofessional excuses and a "credit" for their unprofessio al changes. The credit they gave me was "2,000 towards my next flight which had to be done by July (mean within a month). They have definitely lost several customers and can expect nothing but bad reviews from me, my family and everyone around me. Thank you Volaris for the WORSE TRIP IN MY LIFE!

I think it was great. The flight attendants were very nice. The aircraft was clean and in good shape. I would choose Volaris again this year for my vacation. Absolutely loved my experience.

Volaris let me know my flight was being scheduled on a different day. I turn to calling the company’s customer service to get to the bottom of this. My first interaction with a member at Volaris DROPPED the call as soon as I was put on hold. No biggie, I call back and go through the mundane steps to reach another human. Hurray, I reach another member who again, puts me on hold and once again, my call gets dropped. Ok, I can call again as my plans are wide open, but this happened again and again for over an hour. Once I did get through and got David, who does spend some time trying to explain to me that I wasn’t getting my money back and wouldn’t even receive half of what I paid with airline coupons, I was pretty much done with this company. David gave me a confusing explanation that he couldn’t articulate to the level of my understanding in which case, I asked to speak to a manager. David was unwilling to connect me and told me "there's no manager who can help you as this is the rule and has already been decided".

"DO NOT USE this Airline. This is by far the worst airline I have ever use, the prices are low but that's how they get you, they gauche you in other charges, like; over limited baggage fees,($55.00 US dollars) drinks, food etc. So you will ended up paying more. Seats are too closed. I was surprised they didn't charge me for the air while I was flying. The staff is so rude with lowest service. The airline due to this COV-19 canceled my flight, which it's understandable. so I though it was going to be the same as the other airlines, I decided to contact them just to find out it was no way to contact anyone anywhere. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO CONTACT ANYBODY via phone or line call this number (866) 988-3527 over and over just to realized that after waiting 40-50 minutes the line cut off and if you get thru the line they hung up on you. They also ask you to email them since they are too "BUSY" which I did, I have sent 7 emails and no answer. wasted $250 dollars

No stars. Volaris are crooks. They stole $249 from me, and refuse to give it back. I have been on hold for 64 minutes this time around trying to get my refund. Due to Covid, they initially said they'd only give credits, not refunds. Now they say I can get a refund (got a new email today) but have to call to get it. I have been on hold for over an hour. I will never get it. Trust me on this. They're dishonest and have lost a customer for life, as has their sister airline, Frontier, for the same reason.

never in my life have I experience such bad costumer service.. my son was traveling with his skateboard attached to his carry on which for many years has never been a problem. it wasour turn to get checked in, they charged us for our bag and we proceeded to the security, there they informed us that the skateboard was not aloud to be on his bag and so we tried to bring it back and check it in. instead they laughed at us and told us they would not help with the check in of the skateboard. They said through it in the trash. they just laughed at us and looked at us like we were stupid, I got very anger, so they kicked us of the flight and never even refunded the bag fees or the $360 we payed for the flights.. they said that because I had gotten so angry they had the right not to let us board on the flight. what ever you do don't fly with Volaris!!!!

They didn’t ever answer my call after being on hold for 42 minutes and they didn't have the courtesy of replying to my email so I went on line to cancel my reservation. My confirmation number was not found so I can only assume they canceled my reservation rather than addressing my concerns expressed in my email.. I’m saddened to learn of their poor business practices because we have many friends on their routes and we would have liked to use them in the future. Not only is this unlikely now, but we will also share your rudeness to them. There are other airlines albeit more expensive, but are much easier to communicate with. Once reservation is made, and after 24 hours, NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS! They charge a separate fee for everything--even carryons. Their low rates are simply a come on and are not worth it.

If you're thinking about flying on Volaris... DON'T. They have terrible customer service. They decided to remove my bag from the plane 5 days ago due to their own error of "miscalculating the weight" and still have not returned it to me. I went my entire vacation without my bag (no clothes, personal supplies, certain medications, shoes, etc.). I spent hours both in person and on the phone with them, and they refuse to provide any written guarantee or amount of compensation, so I had no guarantee that any sorely needed replacement items I bought would be covered. They still haven't delivered my bag or agreed to compensate me, meaning at this point they have essentially stolen my belongings in addition to ruining my vacation. Last I spoke with them, they couldn't even say for sure where my bag is, yet they still refuse to pay me for loss and damages. Stay FAR, far away and use an ethical, trustworthy airline instead.

They had horrible services, phone the phone and in person. they sold my seat they end up moving me to another seat I could not seat with my wife and baby. They do not organize themself to provide customer services. I will not recommend this airline even if it is cheap you end up paying more. another thing my baggage was open as if someone when inside.

Worst flight ever. Please, please spend your money somewhere else. It is just not worth it to use thos crappy airline. They promised my father in law a car as soon as he will arrived in Mexico. Guess what no car anywhere. They were supposed to comeback on the 30th of December to spend new years in California. And when they arrived at the airport in Mexico their flight was cancelled. And will have a next available flight in 4 days. Is it a joke for $1,500 round trip this Bu@#$$$t. No Way that is why I'm leaving this message. Volaris owners please take care of your costumers. They are the only reason you're still in business. DON'T FLIGHT WITH VOLARIS....

I read the reviews and did my homework. For me ? it was one of the best flights I have ever had to go to Mexico. Professional and compassionate staff. They give you options of what kind of services you need, and what kind of services you do not need. Please book at their site, read the summary of detailed options and instructions. I flew from Oakland to Puerto Escondido. I think the thing that stood out most is how the onboard staff treated their passengers, especially their care for elders, people with disabilities and children, I was actually very emotionally moved by the kindness and care they demonstrated. I called in several times and received excellent support. Sometimes I believe we have challenges due to linguistic and cultural differences. The website worked great for me, the application on my phone notified me of last minute changes. I loved my experience with Volaris, it actually was one of the highlights of my trip. Thank you very much and have an excellent day.

So i originally booked my flight online and a day after i called the company to gt some info regarding baggage, since i assumed at the time that every airline is different. I go into the airport literally AN HOUR before my flight and once i got to the check in desk and they said that the flight was about to leave within the last 20 minutes, and I am over here frustrated because i made sure to arrive super early so i don't miss check in. So they charged me a LATE fee and on top of that they were charging me for my CARRY-ON bag when it came with my flight, and not only that but they check in person was being so rude to us in general and willing to help us or give us some clarification about everything when i asked. and to top everything off, I was having a major panic attack and my brother tried to seek some help from the employees and absolutely no help.. will never recommend this to anyone.

Horrible experience. Flight from Tijuana to Acapulco was cancelled. That's understandable. But have another flight later to transport your hundreds of paid passengers. Next available flight was 4 dsys later. Company policy is to rebook the value of the ticket within 24 hours, for travel in next 30 days. Absolutely unacceptable for a paid hotel that was that weekend. No refund. Not even a voucher. How are you supposed to plan a new trip in the next 30 days and within the next 24 hours? Oh, and you had to wait hours in line to talk to a Volaris representative to make these changes as their call center was not open. End result is they have STOLEN your money without even having to fly a plane. Horrible policy. Horrible airline.

They refused to let me board and gave zero reason why. It was clearly discriminatory as I am from USA. They told me I needed to go to customer service to get a new flight and customer service said it would cost me $300 and that the next flight wasn't until tomorrow. I said that is unacceptable and they laughed at my face and walked away. This is after they had already changed my flight on me giving me a 10 hour layover in las Vegas which is unacceptable as well. Refused to give me any other option with my "new flight". How this company is in business baffles my mind. I've flown 20 airlines to over 60 countries and this company is by far the most disrespectful I've ever witnessed.

My wife booked a ticket with Volaris (Costa Rica-Guatemala). When booking, she indicated that her plans were quite fluid and wanted to know their cancellation policy. She was told that the ticket could be cancelled/rescheduled within 24 hours of booking. True, things changed, and she wanted to reschedule. She was told that international flights can only be cancelled within the first 24hrs of booking, and not within 7 days to departure. Her flight was six days away, therefore could not cancel/reschedule. We checked on their website, and it clearly indicated that flights could be cancelled within 24hrs of booking. That all departing from and to US/Puerto Rico, there was no cancellation, or might incur a fee. We spoke to a supervisor who insisted that her junior was right. She couldn’t show us anywhere with that policy, directed us to the section about US/Puerto Rico and stated that all international flights were covered in that policy. She couldn’t show us where the two conditions were written. She referred us to the electronic flight confirmation; nothing of the sort. Volaris holds customer to rules that they’ve not disclosed and expects the customer to abide by them. Be careful, they bait and switch.

Dont ever use them. Terrible service they need better management team and personell upfront. They 3 time that I pay for first class selected seats and they said that I didnt pay for either so ofcourse I'm going to be frustrated and cuss unprofessional on my behalf I know but 3 time that I had to repay for my whole flight. And we did and they knew we where coming to the flight and they still took off with out me and my 3 children. They are terrible people I had to pay again for them to take off and leave me and my family behind. Worst by farthest worst airline ever. Dont use them even if their flights are "cheaper" you end up paying the same for a different airline with better customer service. Volaris Is The WORST. For sure last time I'm using them ever they are the worst.

To summarize, they showed up LATE to start the boarding process, they sent at least 7 people running to get a form stamped, and knowing that we were all on our way they closed the door 15 minutes EARLY. One lady who missed the plane was left behind as they let her family board but didn't wait for her! And worst of all, they didn't offer any sympathy at all. They didn't reimburse our flight, not even a portion of it. They didn't offer us a spot on the next flight, NOT EVEN A DISCOUNT on the flight that left the next day. They didn't offer us vouchers for a hotel since the next flight didn't leave until the next day or anything. We continued to complain to them and all they offer us was $50 each towards a future flight with them, but they gained nearly $900 dollars by refusing to let us on the plane and making us pay full price for the next tickets. The irony of it all is that they claim to be the "most punctual airline in Mexico" but they next flight we took with them to get home was nearly an hour late.

Flying back from Mexico City Volaris canceled my flight and didn't notify me. At the airport they said it was my fault not theirs that I was stranded the agent said "because my Volaris colleague attempted to contact you and couldn't". They took no responsibility and offered no assistance, hotel, voucher, possible other flights, etc. The agent was rude and arrogant, This is not an airline you should travel with.

I’ve travelled to over 50 countries & this airline was by far the worst I have ever been on. By far. Nothing was organized from the moment we got in line at the LAX airport. The airline has a young staff that do not know anything about organizing lines or explaining to customers where to go. The flight itself was extremely uncomfortable. No leg room. Flight home was infested with mosquitoes flying all over the passengers. On the way to Cancun we were told to pick up our bags and give them to the next flight. There was absolutely no direction or sign as to where to take them. We ended up having to carry them on the flight ourselves. Flight attendants again were bad at explaining anything. Flight was delayed by two hours with no explanation. Overall miserable experience.

Highly recommend against this airline. Flew home from Cancun on Volaris...there was a 3-hour delay that caused a missed connection. Volaris's solution was ridiculous. They would not put us on an alternative flight to our final destination. Instead, they flew us to a different city (Fresno) and left us there focusing us to buy additional flights to get home (Seattle). I've never heard of an airline sending you to a different city and saying "eh...close enough" when their flight being late was the cause of the issue. I paid way more buying the extra flight home than I would have if I'd of just bought a flight from a real airline to start with. Never again.

Por este medio quiero desir que esta aerolínea es unas de las peores para viajar a cualquier parte del mundo tanto como el personal que son unos despotas mal educados in respetuosos despotas. Con la experiencia que e tenido de viajar a Mexico. El Salvador a Costa Rica nunca ve tenido mala experiencia por eso mientras este personal siga así se van ir a quiebra y parte por todo quieren cobrar asta para registrarte que mala experiencia

WORST airline, worst customer service I have EVER had the displeasure to receive. Kicked my family member out of an exit row seat paid extra for months in advance, didn't need to check a bag but had to wait a full hour in that huge line be given a separated single seat at back of plane and told gate agents would need to help, gate agents did NOTHING to help, in fact after another of HOUR of being mostly IGNORED by them was told there was nothing they could do - AND "I" could contact Volaris upon my return to be given a voucher to compensate for the extra fee I'd previously paid for the one family member they separated to a back row seat!!! When on the plane we discovered the seat was given to someone that did NOT purchase seats in advance together but wanted to sea closer together - I guess they deserved priority because they were of Hispanic decent rather than Caucasian?? (that's certainly what the service made us FEEL had happened) From now on I am definitely spending a little more to fly American Airlines and STRONGLY recommend you do the same! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! DO NOT FLY VOLARIS!

I booked a round flight with Volaris to travel to Mexico with my infant. I paid extra for first priority however I was not treated as such. In order to board the plane I had to go down stairs and catch a shuttle bus with my infant and carry on baggage and when we arrived we had to go down stairs off the plane in another shuttle bus. My baby's stroller was not provided at arrival and I had to stand in a long line for the immigration check with infant and baggage. Return flight, due to a nearby accident I and other customers were late and missed our flight, their staff had no empathy or consideration for us. This was a very difficult and horrific experience and I do not recommend for parents traveling alone with an infant. I had to purchase a ticket from another airline whom had a much friendlier staff that did fully assist even with opening baby's stroller. Thank you Interjet!

Date of trip 06augflt 912a 743a Our checkin was horrible in GDL airport. Check in was so unorganized. No specific lines for checkin. No monitor was displayed for what city destination.No clear direction from any attendant. Utter confusion for travelers. People were complaining of the lack of order. Even the cheapest airlines as I viewed across the way was better organized.

Never again will I fly with Volaris! The worse customer services. They want to implement additional charges to everything. We arrived 3 hours before our flight as suggested. The check-in line was extremely long. We had a flight from LAX to Oaxaca City. I was traveling with my 6 month daughter and husband. We waited in line for a long time and when we finally reached the check-in desk the customer service representative told us that the flight was closed. I was in shocked and could not believe what she was telling us. Since it was a late night flight my daughter was ready for a nap. The representative said they could not do anything even when we were waiting in line 3 hours before our flight. We had to purchased another ticket with Interjet since Volaris did not have any other flights to Oax for the next morning. We had to spend the night at the airport with our 6 month daughter. It was the worse experience ever! Other airlines would do their best to make sure all their clients get to their gates! Volais is not one! Not worth flighting with them regardless of their low prices!

They charge extra to either check or carry-on luggage. Base price includes 2 small carry-on bags only. Seats were extremely uncomfortable and very close together, (Tiny tray table when lowered pressed into my stomach and I am not that fat, just a little belly) Furthermore, airline completely closed their ticket counter for an hour in Mexico City at 3:00 PM for a 'lunch break'

Be aware this airline charges for carry on luggage. The size of the luggage they claim to be free is ridiculously small! The seats are way too small and costumer service sucks. Very disappointed!

I bought 4 round trip tickets for a family vacation from Monterrey to Acapulco. I purchased these tickets approximately 3 weeks in advance of the trip. The day before the trip i received an email to print my boarding passes. I noticed that the return trip was moved back one day. When i called them, they said my trip was changed and gave me another number to call to find out why. They told me that the airport was closed that day. (hahaha). Luckily it wasn't closed for Vivaaerobus and I was able to continue my planned vacation. I will never use Volaris again.

If you want a LOW COST trip and dont mind not having superb food or the most comfortable seating around then volaris is your best option. I guess you get what you pay for and Volaris will save you lots of money for your next trip. Overall a good experience.

I took a two hour flight from tijuana to culiacan with my wife. My first one with volaris. I ate Italian sandwich with soda. I will go with volaris again next vacation. The plane must be new, its like new car smell inside.

i have to say volaris is the best airline so far i give it 100 stars if i could , i had my mom her sister and daughter flying to gdl from lax airport i thought my husband had purchase airline tickets this was a emergency do to the fact that my aunt had passed away in mexico , i got to lax airport at 12am flight was leaving at 1:15am . and tickets were not purchase and the supervisor from volaris helped my mom and her family get that flight , he went out of his way to make sure my family was on that flight , i am so grateful to him and even when i tried to tip him he said they dont accept tips, that left me speechless just to show u their is helpful and very nice people out their in this case volaris takes the 1st place , thank you to the supervisor and his team!

Their carry on luggage fees are very expensive and the employees are rude. Airplane seats are very uncomfortable and have small leg room. You need to purchase the emergency seats in order to have enough space. Everything costs extra with this airline. Even a cup of water!

My flight was 4 hours late. The gates were changed twice and the band was changed a third time without a warning. It was completely unacceptable. To try to make it up we received a free dinner.
