    They were responsible for me missing my connecting flight and did not compensate me. I paid a premium to avoid the discomfort and additional expenses that they caused me. Had I known I would choose a different flight.

    I flew from Taipei to Stockholm via Vienna but was rebooked to Berlin from Vienna. The airline was well aware of my connecting flight but did nothing to prevent my flight to Stockholm to depart. They also lost my baggage.

    Arrived at NAIA terminal on May 25, 2023. Our 8 check in bags are still in JFK airport. It’s been 3 days now and no action taken. Do not fly China Airlines and their customer service is way below standards. My first and last time to fly this airline. Please please do not patronize their business.

    Horrible experience.
    Made us buy duplicate tickets because our middle names were not in the booking details.
    However, online, there are only to fields to fill in ” First Name” and “Last Name”.
    The stewardess said not possible to amend the details at the counter.
    However, she did amend the tickets of our son because his middle name was only 3 letters … so stupid rule.
    No other solution proposed apart from buying new tickets.
    On board, no extra baby seat belt was provided for our 9 month old baby…

    Do not recommend at all

    Extremely bad experience with China Airlines.

    Hong Kong – Taiwan (flight CI 922).
    At check-in, the stewardess (Charlotte W***) told us that we couldn’t take our flight.

    The reason she gave us is that our names on the booking didn’t match our passports.
    Our First Name and Family Name were correct. BUT, she said we had to put all our middle names as well with our First Names. Hence our tickets were unusable.

    Of course, modifying the booking online is not possible.
    Online, only 2 boxes called “Last Name” and “First Name”. No box for middle names.
    My first name contains an hyphen and I have commas between my middle names, the website does not accept special characters…

    At the counter not possible to amend our booking.
    ONLY 3 LETTERS. So she amended our son’s booking only.
    Actually, China Airlines CAN amend booking. Technically and regulatory.
    We finally bought new tickets, with fees, more expensive of course.

    China Airlines is the best. Flight attendants are always willing to help immediately when there is a need. They treat their customers well. The only down side to me is the food, which can be improved. Other than that, it’s still one of the top airlines in Taiwan.
