Vietjet named one of Asia's best employers for a sixth straight year

Vietjet has been named one of the Best Companies to Work For in Asia at the HR Asia Awards 2026, taking the title for a sixth consecutive year.

The Vietnamese carrier shares this year's honours list with Masan, Sabeco and other leading regional businesses. The award recognises employers with strong HR practices, high employee engagement and a workplace culture that people want to stay in.

Vietjet also collected the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award for the first time. That category rewards companies running substantive diversity policies, where employees progress regardless of gender, ethnicity, age or cultural background.

A workforce built from 68 countries

Vietjet employs nearly 10,000 staff and specialists from more than 68 countries and territories. Close to 30 per cent come from elsewhere in Asia. Almost 30 per cent are aged between 20 and 30, which gives the airline an unusually young profile for a carrier of its size.

The airline trains its people through the Victoria Aviation Academy, known internally as VIAA. Programmes there cover international-standard operational training, professional certification, leadership development and specialist workshops run by aviation experts.

Vietjet has also invested in the physical workplace. The headquarters includes dining areas, a cinema room, a gym, a yoga room and shared community spaces. The airline runs cultural events, sports fixtures and team activities through the year.

What the recognition says about the airline

Employer awards rarely make aviation headlines. They matter more than they look, though. Cabin crew retention, engineering staffing and pilot pipelines all sit downstream of workplace culture, and airlines that struggle to hold onto people tend to struggle operationally soon afterwards. Vietjet is chasing a European launch alongside continued Asia-Pacific expansion, so the depth of its talent bench becomes a live commercial question rather than a soft one.

Announcing the 2026 Airline Excellence Awards, AirlineRatings CEO Sharon Petersen pointed to the combination of low fares, a fast-growing network and a modern fleet behind the ultra low-cost win. She also flagged the Zero Dollar fare promotions and the SkyJoy loyalty programme as drivers of the airline's reach across the region.
