Jetstar relaunches international flights to Singapore

Jetstar’s first international flight since borders opened in Australia is set to take off Thursday, December 16, from Melbourne to Singapore. The daily Singapore flights mark the first time Jetstar’s Boeing 787-8 aircraft have taken to the international skies for a commercial flight since 26 March 2020. From Friday, Jetstar will also commence five weekly flights to Fiji from Sydney. Jetstar CEO Gareth Evans said this was a huge milestone in Jetstar’s recovery from the pandemic. “After more than 600 days, we’re really excited to be finally relaunching our international operations, with flights to Singapore and Fiji the first to take to the skies. “Aussies love an overseas holiday, and our low fares make it easier to take off on an international adventure. “We’ve already seen strong demand for our international flights, and a recent survey of Jetstar customers showed that around three-quarters of respondents plan to travel overseas in the next 12 months. “Today is a great day for travelers and also for our international crew, many of whom have returned to work this month after being stood down since March 2020.” READ: MH370: Probable location found of MH370  READ: MH370: The extraordinary debris trail across the Indian Ocean  READ: MH370: chronology of major events  International flights to other destinations in Jetstar’s network, such as Thailand, Bali, Japan and Vietnam are scheduled to resume in the first part of 2022 as quarantine requirements in these destinations ease. International flights are subject to Government and Regulatory approval. Jetstar’s Fly Flexible policy offers customers who book flights before 28 February 2022 with a ‘fee free’ date change when traveling before 31 December 2022. Jetstar has also extended credit vouchers for use until at least 31 December 2022, for flights up to the end of 2023. On Jetstar international flights to and from Australia, you are required to be fully vaccinated with a TGA-approved or recognized vaccine at least 7 days before your flight (exceptions apply). You'll need to provide proof of vaccination at the airport. If there are different vaccination requirements for your destination or another airline on your itinerary, the strictest rules will apply.
