How Etihad Wellbeing helps frequent flyers arrive refreshed

Etihad Airways has introduced Etihad Wellbeing, a new programme that gathers the airline's latest product and service enhancements under one banner. The UAE national carrier, a Seven Star PLUS safety rated airline, says the programme is designed to help guests travel more comfortably and arrive feeling rested and refreshed.

The idea is to let guests keep up their healthy lifestyle habits throughout the journey, which is particularly challenging for frequent travellers who regularly cross multiple time zones. Small changes like those outlined below are exactly the sort of edge an airline can hold over its premium competitors, because little things make a big difference on a long flight.

Wellness at every touchpoint, from Etihad's lounges to the cabin

The programme covers the whole journey. On the ground, it takes in dedicated quiet spaces and pre-departure spa treatments in the Etihad Lounges at Zayed International Airport. In the air, it extends to luxury amenities, natural bedding, nutritious dining and hydrating vitamin and electrolyte beverages.

Jyotsna Chowdhry, Vice President Product and Hospitality at Etihad Airways, said the programme responds to what frequent flyers increasingly want.

"Research shows that as people fly more frequently, they are increasingly looking at ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle while they travel. Whether that's a quieter onboard environment, premium skincare, improved sleep amenities or content that helps our guests relax on longer journeys, these are real products and experiences that make a difference during travel.”

Electrolyte drinks and protein-rich dining lead the healthy menu

Dining is a central plank of the programme. Etihad now serves hydrating, vitamin-enriched and electrolyte drinks alongside an expanded range of nutritious, protein-rich dishes and more plant-forward options. Now as any regular traveller knows electrolyte drinks are one of the best ways to combat jetlag when arriving in a hot country.

Guests following a specialist diet for health, wellbeing or religious reasons can choose from a wide selection of special meals. These include lactose-free, low-sodium, low-fat, low-salt and gluten-free options.

Quiet Cabin, a signature scent and wellness content complete the package

The programme also folds in Etihad's Quiet Cabin initiative, which cuts non-essential announcements to support a calmer cabin. Guests can find meditation, stretching and sleep content on the inflight entertainment system.

Etihad is also rolling out a new signature scent across its aircraft and lounges. Designed exclusively for the airline, the fragrance aims to create a welcoming, calm and familiar atmosphere wherever guests encounter the brand.

Luxe bedding and Etihad Quiet Cabins create the perfect environment for a deeper, more restful sleep.

The First cabin and The Residence get natural bedding and ESPA skincare

Guests lucky enough to travel in First and The Residence will now sleep on memory foam mattresses with cotton bedding and premium sleepwear. First guests also receive luxury ESPA skincare amenities along with facial sheet masks and under-eye masks designed to restore skin during the flight.

Etihad becomes the first airline to partner with LANEIGE skincare

In Business, Etihad has recently introduced its Destination Collection amenity kits featuring skincare from Korean beauty brand LANEIGE. Each kit includes the brand's Water Sleeping Mask, Lip Sleeping Mask and hand cream. Etihad is the first airline to partner with LANEIGE and is currently the only carrier offering the brand's luxury products onboard.

Inside these amenity kits Business Class passengers will find a hydrating Water Sleeping Mask, Lip Sleeping Mask, and Hand Cream.

Etihad's wellness push follows a landmark year for safety

The programme lands at a strong moment for the airline. Etihad took first place in AirlineRatings.com’s 2026 World's Safest Airlines ranking in January, the first time a Gulf carrier has held the number one full-service position. A young fleet, crash-free history and low incident rate per flight were critical factors in this.

In December 2025, Etihad became the fourth airline globally and the first of the Gulf's big three to earn our Seven Star PLUS safety rating after an independent onboard safety audit.
