Cathay Pacific Airways will introduce high-speed Wi-Fi to its Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 fleets from mid-2018, in response to its passengers’ growing demand for in-flight connectivity. The move follows the very successful introduction of broadband services to its new Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Read Cathay Pacific Passenger Reviews Cathay Pacific Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Paul Loo said that the airline envisages “that by 2020, all of our wide-body aircraft will have in-flight connectivity capabilities. This will open up a wealth of opportunities for us to provide more innovative experiences for our customers.” Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon will be the first major carriers in Asia to adopt Gogo’s 2Ku satellite-based broadband in-flight connectivity technology. It will be installed on the airlines’ Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 aircraft.

Cathay Pacific has had a great reaction to Wi-Fi on its new Airbus A350s.
“Our goal is to allow our customers to be connected anytime and anywhere – and this agreement with Gogo is a huge step in enabling us to deliver this,” added Mr Loo. When added to recently- launched services to Gatwick, Madrid and Barcelona, the Hong Kong carrier’s newly announced additions will bring the number of directly served destinations in Europe to 15. It will use state-of-the-art A350-900 aircraft on the route featuring its newest seats and cabin design as well as in-flight wi-fi. The plane features 38 lie-flat business seats with direct aisle access and plenty of space as well as 28 premium economy seats with a 40-inch seat pitch. Cathay’s 214 economy seats in the A350 are also generous by modern standards, with a 32-inch seat pitch and a width of 18 inches.
