As Cathay Pacific Airways moves to 11 flights a week from Perth the airline has unveiled its latest cabin upgrades to entice passengers.
Starting this month Cathay is launching retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with an all-new Business Class — Aria Suite — a new Premium Economy, and a refreshed Economy Class cabin.
The retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER is configured in a three-class layout with a total of 361 seats, comprising 45 flat-bed Business, 48 Premium Economy, and 268 Economy seats.
Cathay says the new Business Class Aria Suite Aria Suite features a range of innovations and enhancements to take the Business Class experience to the next level.
It features an enhanced level of privacy with the addition of a suite door while centre-seat customers have the option to deploy the movable partition to enjoy an elevated level of privacy, or to have it open for a shared Business Class experience with their travel partner.
The Aria Suite features a 24-inch 4K ultra high-definition screen and passengers can pair their Bluetooth-enabled headphones to enjoy a more personalised entertainment experience.
Aria Suite also caters to the evolving digital world with a built-in wireless charger, perfect for smartphones and other personal devices.
Alternatively, USB-A, USB-C, and AC power outlets are also available to suit passenger’s needs, while the large table features an integrated personal electronic device (PED) holder.
The suite features a multi-tier design that comprises the side cabinet, sliding drawer, and side stowage sections.
Through the new Touch Screen Passenger Control Unit (TSPCU), not only can passengers control the settings of the signature Cathay lamp and its three built-in directional light modes — meal, reading, and console — they can also select different pre-set seating positions including Taxi, Take-off and Landing (TTL), Lounge, and Bed with a single touch.
Secondary buttons are easily accessible for changing the seat’s position while lying down.
In the Premium Economy cabin the new seats feature customised wings near the headrest, providing passengers with privacy and between the centre-most seats, an arm-level divider helps to create a defined personal space.
On the inflight entertainment front the airline has added a 15.6-inch 4K ultra-high-definition screen which features Bluetooth audio streaming, enabling passengers to personalise their inflight entertainment experience.
The seats also have space to store amenities as well as a bottle holder.
Passengers also have a storage space by their side located within their seat, which is fitted with a USB-C power port, enabling them to charge their handheld devices with ease.
A new feature, which is great, is a personal reading light that is conveniently integrated into the wing near the headrest.
Passengers simply press the indent to switch on the light, and twist it to adjust the light to their preference.
The airline has also improved the “table space” with both a meal and cocktail table.
New lavatories have been installed from nose to tail.
The new lavatories each feature a touchless flush, a foot-activated waste bin, an infrared-activated faucet, and three-stage lighting to minimise disturbance to the cabin. In the Premium Economy cabin, two dedicated lavatories are available to provide customers with easy access to these enhanced amenities.
All passengers travelling onboard the 777-300ER can stay connected in the air, with the ability to check emails, browse the internet, stream audio, use social media and messaging apps, and access cloud storage services and other professional applications.
Business Class passengers will enjoy complimentary access to the Wi-Fi service on their flight.
