American Airlines' premium package that allows well-heeled travelers to pay for a better travel experience has been expanded to four new airports. The airline’s Five Star service is now available at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in Texas, Nashville International Airport (BNA) in Tennessee and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey. It will also be available at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) from August 9. READ Airfare rises to hit some countries harder in 2020 The four new additions mean the service is available at 16 domestic airports and four international airports. The personalized airport service costs $US350 for the first person, $US100 for each additional adult and $US50 for each child. It gives people with a ticket in any premium cabin access to Flagship First check-in with expedited security screening and The Admirals Club Lounge. Other perks include expedited security screening, an escort to the gate, priority boarding and re-accommodation status as well as car service coordination. American says its news markets were chosen following an analysis of current Five Star customers and their travel patterns. It is aimed at personalizing the journey in the growing and competitive business, tech and entertainment markets. “Continued adoption of our Five Star Service demonstrates the value our customers place on a streamlined travel experience,” said American vice president of global marketing Janelle Anderson “We know the onboard experience is just one part of our customers’ journey. Through continued investments in renovated Admirals Clubs, new Flagship Lounges and personalized on-the-ground experiences, we’re making strides to enhance the level of care we provide from curb to gate." The airline offers options that are even more upmarket in some airports, including the Blade helicopter service at Los Angeles and New York JFK and private departure and arrival services at LAX. The airline says it investing more than $US200 million in premium travel through new lounges, improved onboard dining and an award-winning wine program.
