Vueling review by Margaretha 2014-08-28

Travel weekly for work for the past 7 years. I have boarded every major European airline (including Easyjet) in past 12 months. On top of that I am a silver card holder with BA. Vueling being part of Iberia, which is in turn part of BA, you would only assume that might have a slight leverage… you are mistaken. This is without a doubt the worst airline in Europe. Flight was from Brussels to Barcelona (for work). Flight was delayed by more then 1 hour, but ok, not the worst that can happen. Personnel at gate in Brussels, couldn’t be bothered. Person with wheelchair was treated awful, being questioned and accused that they did not ask for help. The poor lady had to wait till last person boarded and was pushed to the side corner, this really happened! Personnel on board was courteous, all as expected. Arrived at Barcelona airport, no luggage. Ok, not the first time this has happened either. But here comes the total unbelievable take on this story. I go to lost luggage, give my information. I ask them where the luggage is at present (surely they can track with my ticket number/bar code), at which point I am told they do not scan anything because all information has to be entered manually. I start to laugh at that response, thinking I heard incorrectly. Let me rephrase, I am flying from Brussels (international airport) to Barcelona (international airport) and they are telling me they can not track my luggage because its not on the ‘system’ because it was not entered ‘manually’. Additionally they stated that Brussels has a different system then Barcelona and therefore they can not check status of any luggage. I am telling you, every issue with airlines you can think of, I have experienced. I have NEVER heard a story like this before. It is less then 24h since the incident and therefore I do not have my luggage yet. I will NEVER use this airline again. My advise, if you do, do not check your luggage!!! I on the other hand, should have known better but due to 2 prior trips before going to Barcelona, I had more luggage then usual and had to use the baggage check in. I am seriously going to have to revise my shoe policy when traveling and pack lighter…..
