About Vueling

Vueling Airlines, established in the early 2000s, is a Spanish low-cost airline that has rapidly become one of the prominent players in the European aviation market. Originally formed to provide budget-friendly travel options within Spain, the airline soon expanded to include a broader network, covering various destinations across Europe and beyond. The foundational strategy of Vueling was to offer competitive pricing while ensuring enjoyable travel experiences for passengers. Additionally, the airline's growth was marked by strategic decisions to capitalize on merging and acquisition opportunities, which helped it to expand its service offerings and increase its reach to various international destinations. Vueling’s fleet mainly comprises narrow-body aircraft suited for short to medium-haul flights, which is typical for a budget airline focusing primarily on point-to-point connections within Europe. These aircraft are configured to optimize passenger load while maintaining comfort, which enables Vueling to keep fares lower than traditional carriers. The interior settings and seating arrangements are designed to be functional yet comfortable, catering to both leisure and business travelers. The focus on cost-efficiency and operational effectiveness allows the airline to maintain a competitive edge in the highly contested low-cost market. In terms of services, Vueling offers a streamlined experience with various customer-oriented features. With an emphasis on digital solutions, Vueling provides an efficient online booking system and a user-friendly mobile application, making travel arrangements and check-ins easier for passengers. The airline also offers various additional services which passengers can choose to enhance their travel experience, such as priority boarding, advance seat selection, and extra luggage options. Vueling has also worked to integrate sustainability into its operations, with ongoing efforts to improve fuel efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of its flights. This balance of affordability, convenience, and consideration for environmental concerns reflects Vueling’s commitment to modern travel demands.

From Unprofessional to Unlawful – A Shocking Airline Experience My husband and I were flying from Cape Town to Berlin with a connecting flight in Amsterdam. We arrived at Amsterdam with plenty of time and sat at the gate indicated on the screens. The screen only showed a delay—there were no announcements over the speakers and no information from staff. Suddenly, we received a text message informing us of a gate change. We immediately went to the new gate and arrived just five minutes after the message, only to be told we could not board because we were “too late.” However, two passengers who arrived after us were allowed to board without issues. How is that acceptable? We were checked in, had boarding passes in hand, and were present at the airport the entire time. Based on what we witnessed, it appears our seats were given away to other passengers. To make matters worse, the three women at the gate behaved incredibly unprofessionally—they were dismissive, rude, and even laughed in our faces as we explained that our minor children were at home alone in Berlin, waiting for us to return. We asked for their names and they refused to provide them. We received no support. The complaints desk simply rebooked us for the next morning. As a result, we are now spending the night in the airport—exhausted, distressed, and extremely worried about our children at home. This experience was not only deeply unprofessional, but it raises serious concerns about fairness and compliance with passenger rights. How can it be legal for a company be allowed to operate this way? They sell you something and then do not deliver. And then there is no accountability, communication or owing up to a mistake. Deceitful company. I would be ashamed to work there.
