Flying with Fiji Airways was an overall great experience for me. My seat had average legroom for Economy, however the meals were amazing, with 3 options for each meal. I had chocolate pancakes one way and chicken one way. Both had lots of fruit and other foods like muffins.

Absolutely Heartless and Disgraceful Experience with Fiji Airways After 52 years, my family finally returned to Fiji to fulfill our father’s wish of showing us his homeland. Tragically, during our visit, he suffered a massive heart attack and passed away. We were devastated. In the middle of this nightmare, we reached out to Fiji Airways for help — not for luxuries, not for handouts — but simply to change flights and bring our grieving family and our father’s body home. Fiji Airways’ response? Cold. Bureaucratic. Completely devoid of empathy. They refused to accommodate us, forcing us to purchase entirely new tickets at our own expense. No support, no flexibility, not even the decency of a partial refund on the original flights we couldn’t use due to an unforeseeable tragedy. In one of the darkest moments of our lives, Fiji Airways had the opportunity to show compassion and humanity. Instead, they chose to nickel-and-dime a grieving family. It’s hard to describe how cruel and insensitive this airline truly was during a time we needed just a shred of kindness. I will never forget how poorly we were treated. And I will never fly with Fiji Airways again — not just because of their terrible policies, but because of the utter lack of human decency they showed when it mattered most.

I had a connecting flight from Auckland to Fiji to Singapore to New Delhi.. fiji airways until Singapore then Air India as last flight. We read some reviews regarding baggage being delayed or not boarded at all. To our worst fear exact same thing happened to me and my travel mate. We reached upto Singapore and our Smart Tags showed baggage location as Auckland terminal. We finally reached New Delhi and its been 20 hrs since, it's location is stuck at Nadi, Fiji international airport transit terminal. We are helpless with lots of important items in baggage, which is making our lives tough. The most we can get in compensation is 1000 nzd each passenger if at all it's lost or can't be delivered. Our items are worth much more. This is leaving bitter taste. I'll will strongly not recommend anyone if baggage is important to them.

Being a loyal Virgin Australia passenger I found myself stranded in LA and unable to get back to Melbourne. I flew Fiji Airways in February 2021 and Air New Zealand in November. I can say without a doubt my flight with Fiji Airways was far more comfortable in every way compared to air New Zealand. From the comfort of the seats to the incredible vegetarian food there was no comparison. I honestly find the flight crew so delightful, although I have great admiration for all flight crews there was a warmth from all on both flights each way that made it just that was just a little more welcoming. Although Nadi airport leaves a little to be desired my short layover makes it bearable. I'm flying again next month and I didn't even look at prices (although I wasn't aware Virgin was flying to LA again) I still think I'd choose Fiji Airways

Fiji Airways just got 5 star award from APEX. How on earth did that happen? They are not 5 star! They fired 400+ of their very own cabin crew with nothing left to their names. They were not made redundant they were all terminated. Did Apex even take the Airline major debt into consideration before giving away such a rating??

Flyer beware. I checked my bags through to my final destination, but the airline required me to remove my bags in Fiij, so they can charge an extra set of baggage fees for the next leg of the trip. And their baggage fees are large. They may appear to be a least expensive option, but in the end, they can cost more than other airlines. They also lost my bags for some time and only produced them when pressed.

Have been waiting several months for a refund and I have been told the wait is approx 12 months. Disgusting that they are not refunding cancelled flights in a timely manner. Fiji Airways is majority owned by the Fiji government with Qantas being the other shareholders. I will never travel to FIJI and am telling my story to whoever will listen.

THIEVES!! Liars! Both Priceline and FIJI airlines have no right to be selling these tickets to FIJI - they are GHOST flights -they don't even fly to Melbourne Australia. DO NOT BOOK A TICKET with them! DO NOT deal with them! FIJI airlines cannot fly to Melbourne - COVID has ravaged their country and there are no flights out of FIJI - i just lost $564 booking a ticket and have no chance of getting the money back.

Never book with Fiji Airways. Their gate agent in Los Angelas denied me boarding and stranded me at LAX (en route from Toronto to Auckland) and did not cancel my flight so that I could rebook using the remaining flight credit. The reason I was denied boarding is that I was unable to show her my onward travel from New Zealand in the 10 minutes I had left in boarding time. She left my status as a 'no-show' despite the fact that I was at the gate. This caused me to have to book a new flight at full price for the next date. I have been dealing with Fiji Airways call centre staff for over a month trying to get a refund on only the unused portion of my ticket (Los Angeles to Auckland) and they have consistently promised to update me via email or phone call and have never followed up once. They have told me to email '[email protected]' and '[email protected]' which don't even exist anymore. Trying to get anywhere with Fiji Airways has been a nightmare and I would recommend avoiding this airline at all costs.

Lets just say Fiji Airways is most pathetic air carrier and staffs think their own the planes.Travelled from Nadi to Sydney in mid January ground staff were rude.. Clearly we could see that everyone was getting checked in but everytime we approached we got told that its not open had to wait for that gentlemen to move away before we could get checked in by one of the staff then comes the flight service where we got told that food is not available as per my dietary requirement as the crews never loaded them and when told them that this is ridiculous as we have health issues we got told we can get arrested as the ridiculous is a level 1 threat.. Will I ever travel on Fiji airways nope will I recommend to friends and families never.its all about money making business..

Flying from Nadi to Christchurch. At the check-in counter the company asked for the "ticket out of New Zealand", witch I promptly show. It was a ticket from Auckland to Santiago (Chile). The agency from I've bought the ticket didn't sent the "booking reference" of the flight, but I had the booking flight proof and the receipt of payment. Fiji Airways refuse to check me in because I didn't have the "booking reference" (for a flight 3 weeks later out of NZ). Worst, they didn't even offer to help or sugest any solution, just saying I had 20min until they close the check-in, refusing to call NZ immigration services to expose the problem. It was night time in Europe, and after 20min and more than 60 Euros on the phone I got the mighty "booking reference"! Arriving in New Zealand, 99% sure, they made me for that spend 1h in Customs running through all my things during an extensive interrogation. It makes no sense playing with people lifes in a job that you are supposed to help people that paid for a service. Worst flying company I ever travelled.

I would never take Fiji Airways again after the experience I had today. I was checked in the night before and had no carry on luggage. I arrived to the airport 1 hour before the flight and the customer service rep refused to let me on the flight since I wasn’t there early enough. This ended up costing us $500 and making us arrive late to our vacation.

Terrible customer service. Lost luggage for 4 days on one flight. Compensation was $50 US each. The next flight we were booked full fare business class from Nadi to San Francisco. The day of the flight it was cancelled due to “reschedule planning”. I believe it was because they did not have enough passengers. We were delayed for 2 days and only offered travel coupons for a future Fiji Airways flight. They did not compensate us for any of the additional expenses for accommodations or food for the additional 2 days.

This Airline has received a bad rap of late. But all I can say is it's up there will the top 20%. Ok, it's not an Emirates or even a Qantas, but it's not bad. We flew business class from Sydney to Nadi return. The seats were not lie flat, but comfy. the Food was OK, not spectacular. The people were fanastic though. Great service!!! And try the new lounge in Nadi!!!!! Way better than anything I have visited with Qantas. Please check out my YouTube experience of the flight. https://youtu.be/wzMuMqLTw2Y

My elderly parents traveled with Fiji Airways on 12/11/17 and due to the airline overbooked passengers they changed my elderly parents flight to Brisbane to Sydney and failed to explained my elderly parents that they have to go from International airport to Domestic and carry their suitcase themselves. A cousin of mine who noticed my parents flight was changed and went to request Fiji Airways staff to get them back on their initial flight as they are elderly and have got health concerns and not fair for them to be in such situation. My cousin requested airline to provide wheelchair service to both my parents which was stamped on their boarding pass. As my parents were getting off the flight, they approached the air hostess who asked them to "keep walking" and no wheelchair service was provided. Then my parents got lost at Sydney airport and missed their flight to Brisbane as they are elderly- late 70's and early 70's and slow at walking. Me and my family were waiting at Brisbane airport for 3hrs and then rang Fiji Airways who mentioned that my parents changed their flight - which was a total lie, my parents were forced to change their flights by the airline staff at Nadi Fiji and airline staff failed to notify Next of Kin. Fiji Airways neglected 2 elderly passengers- age and health, failed their duty of care, and gave incorrect advice to elderly passengers and failed to provide service that they promised. My parents bought their airline ticket on 24/7/17 and they paid full fare. I even requested airline staff on 12/11/17 (when discovered that flights were changed and I had to go to work that afternoon) to pay Jetstar and get my parents to Gold Coast safely and pay Cab Charge as it was not suitable for me to pick them up due to work commitments as the above was their fault. Airline staff claimed that had to pay and then apply in writing, which is not practical as i needed the money there and then to organise the services. Fiji Airways caused lots of distress to my parents and the rest of the family on the day. The next day my Dad was having difficulty walking and I have a letter from GP to provide evidence that Mum and Dad carry their suitcase around Sydney International Airport to Domestic caused them pain and discomfort. My Dad had to seek medical advice and is currently on medications to help him post carrying 3 large suitcases and Fiji Airways failing to provide them wheelchair service as agreed at Nadi Airport. I strongly feel the distress caused by the airline and failing to provide the service and neglecting elderly passenger, my parents should be given full refund of their air fare. It was not my parents fault is the airline has overbooked passengers and also not to inconvenience elderly couple, they could have chosen younger passengers who are fit. It appeards the airline staff foung elderly people vulnerable and unable to represent themselves- they took advantage of their vulnerability--I take this as a form of elder abuse and neglect. I LODGED A COMPLAINT ON PHONE ON 12/11/17 AND REQUESTED IF A SENIOR AIRLINE STAFF CAN CONTACT ME ON 13/11/17 WHICH HAS NOT HAPPENED TILL TODAY(19/11/17.) The airline has made money from my parents and they do not care the harm they have caused to the elderly passengers. I am happy to talk to anyone if you need more information. Recently travelled Fiji Airways July and again August in their Business class... It was OK but for the dollars they ask it lacked service... July was Brisbane /Nadi.. Only eight business class seats, all occupied, come the time to order lunch we were given a menu, made our selection which was to include a cheese plate.. No cheese plate offered told sorry only four cheese plates loaded in Brisbane, we now only have cheesecake left. Hardly business class service... Extremely disappointed.. The return flight again in Business class Nadi/ Brisbane was also lack lustre, not helped by cabin crew who were cold with their delivery, I got the impression that they were having difficultly engaging and seemed disinterested in what they were doing.... Again most disappointing....

I think that the hostesses were very lazy, napping two-thirds of the whole time, and rudely ignoring passengers. One even resorted to hiding in the toilets. Only one hostess was helpful/kind but the rest were very rude and lazy. The meals weren't bad though

We have flown from Los Angeles to Nadi several times in the last few years and have always had a good experience. While there has been nothing outstandingly great about our trips, there have been no problems either. Once, when the connecting puddle jumper flight from Kadavu was over laden and they had to leave our luggage until a later flight, they put us in the empty bubble on the 747 return flight to L.A. to compensate. We stretched out on the empty seats and slept all the way back. Now, the Pacific Sun connecting flights are another kettle of fish. They are usually late, overbooked or both. We tend to treat it as an adventure, this is not a major transportation hub after all. The destination makes the hassle worthwhile.

I had a terrible experience with Fiji airways. I am currently travelling with a surfboard and I am careful to check terms and conditions before booking. I was flying from Jakarta to Fiji and the first flight to Singapore was with a partner airline. I was charged the normal rate as advertised on Fiji Airlines website for my surfboard and extra weight happy in the knowledge that my bags were checked through to Fiji. On arrival at the transfer desk in Singapore I was told I had to pay again! Why would this be? There was barely time to transfer never mind arrange payment again. The flight manager could not care less. He was not interested in what was right or wrong just taking more money. Or they would not load my bags. Take the money basically and leave it to the customer to do something about it. On arrival in Fiji I made a complaint and asked for evidence in the terms and conditions to show why I was charged twice. I considered that I had been wrongly sold my ticket. No evidence was provided just an apology that I did not think I had good service! As far as I can see the airline have illegally taken money from me and I can't do anything about it.

Worst experience ever!! I was meant to fly out from Sydney at 6:30 am this morning (06/05/17) on flight no. FJ 914 to Nadi, we boarded the plane as per normal time, but the plane had mechanical issues and for almost 2 hours the passengers were left sitting in the plane and the flight attendants didn't even check on the passenger's. People with young children and other passenger's had to go and individually ask for water. Once the passengers finally departed the plane we were given $15 food vouchers to use in airport and no other instructions were given to us by Fiji Airways staff. Passengers were finally summoned to gate 26 around 11am and we were told that the engineers are waiting on parts to arrive from Brisbane and the flight will be rescheduled for 8:30 pm tonight once the plane has been repaired. We have been given the following options: 1. Stay at the airport, we will be given another food voucher and wait for the flight tonight. 2. Check-out of the airport and then check back in this afternoon for the flight tonight 3. Get our tickets refunded and the passengers can book new flights. Ground staff have no idea what is going on and asked us to call customer service

After reading the reviews on Fiji airline, I was not looking forward to the return trip from Sydney to Nadi. At the airport, the line was long but all the counters was open, staff were efficient and the oversize luggage cage is right there. The flight was on time, the plane (?air bus A240) has quite large seat and great entertainment program, meal was average, staff were friendly and helpful. On the trip back to Sydney, the ground staff serve us straight away cos we travel with a 4 mths old. We paid FJD $75 per person to use the Fiji airway lounge, they have nice Fiji rum, ok food n internet which wroth the money. Flight was on time but it was a old plane (airbus850?) with TV screen above your head, the leather cushion on my seat kept coming off. Meals was average. Staff were nice.

Last week I needed to change dates for my return leg ticket to Melbourne, as I came to visit my mother-in-law and the day I was suppose to fly back she passed away. So I was quoted just under AUD$700 for the changes. And when I went to check on their website, the the return one way ticket was only AUD$404. EDITORS COMMENT: Unfortuntely thats how canages work for every airline unless you are on a very expensive flexible fare. It's often in the case of most airlines round the world, cheaper to buy a new ticket. What you experienced here would be no different on any other carrier if you were on a saver economy ticket.

Overall flight - Excellent Food and beverages - Good Inflight staff - helpful Staff at Sydney check-in counters - worse customer service. Fiji Airways should teach them some customer service. injured myself on vacation, my insurance suggested i call the airline to get a seat where I would be able to keep my injured leg up and immobile. I called ahead and was assured a bulkhead seat on the phone, only to arrive at airport and be refused such even though such seats clearly existed. Agents at Sydney airport were rude and unaccommodating. I was not offered an option to purchase any upgrade to same seats, as I would have gladly done. I was told these seats were reserved for infants. Now am writing to their customer service department, only to be treated just as ugly. NOT Impressed. Their solution was to put me in a seat where my leg was in the aisle where it was bumped constantly.

I travelled in August 2016, excellent service. I went to Fiji Islands again from Sydney in Dec 2016, upon going from Sydney, they didn't allow me to carry my carry on saying it's too big on Fiji Airways. The staff at check-in counters in Sydney are utmost unfriendly. While coming back from Fiji Islands with same Fiji Airways, I was allowed to carry my SAME carry on. They even checked and weighed my bag in Nadi. Nadi staff were friendly and approachable. Not to be insulting or anything but I think staff at Sydney appeared to be very probably racist and discourteous.

Mostly I just want to leave a review to prepare people if they fly with this airline and something does go wrong the customer service I received has left me with the conclusion that they really do not care. The level of customer service I received from them and how they deal with complaints is the worst experience I have ever had from any company, after sending three additional emails to them following my initial complaint they didn't even bother responding from their so called complaints email service! I don't really want to go into detail of what my complaint was with Fiji airways, I just feel obliged to let people know the kind of company I experienced, and nothing about it was good. There are much better airline options to fly to Fiji with and I will definitely never fly with this airline again.

Using this Airline for the first time to Travel from Melbourne to Apia Samoa Fj930 Scheduled Departure 4th Jan 2017 at 22.35pm Arriving Nadi Airport 5th at 5.20am. Nadi 7.00am 5th Jan arriving Apia 10.50am on the 5th Jan.At the Melbourne air port we were told the flight is delayed for 1hr 45minutes putting our second flight to Samoa in jeopardy. During my time flying with Fijian Airways. I had a very injoybale journey from New Zealand to Los Angeles. The cabin stuff were exceptional, being my first time flying I was little nervous, but the cabin crew made me feel right at home! When we had unexpected air turbelence the cabin staff were excellent and reassured me it was part of everyday flying. I felt at ease flying with them, I can't explain how nice and friendly they were ever. I've never witnessed such friendlyness in my life. Everyone cabin crew memeber of staff were amazing and were so friendly! For a budget airline I was expecting below average level of service but I receive none other than great service. I would defiantely fly with them again! There hospitality was incredible, I could of used more leg room though so I'll upgrade next time! The cabin crew were very supportive and quite often checked up on me to make sure my first experience flying was one I remember, and remember I will!! I'm very happy with the level of service I got given and would fly with them again in a heartbeat. I hope to fly to Fiji sometime to witness the amazing Fijian hospitality again, and I'll be doing with Fijian Airways. So thanks!!!!!!

Very unorganised airline. If you plan on getting married in Fiji and wish to take a wedding dress as your carry on luggage, be prepared to hang it at the back of the seat in front of you (and further minimise any small amount of leg room that you have), as the staff will be very unhelpful in hanging it for you. I have also found Fiji airlines customer service to be very slow, unhelpful and unresponsive. If you have a complaint, be prepared for very slack response - even when it is their error! And even when you book your seat numbers ahead of time, be prepared to be separated from your travelling partner on the plane, as when other people check it at the airport, they get prioritised and you lose your seats. I will never fly Fiji airlines again for the above reasons. If you plan on having a destination wedding in Fiji, save yourself the headache before and after your special day and book with another airline.

Very pathetic, disappointing & very poor service. Recon not to book the Fiji Airways flights. I am sure everyone knows of flight cancellation to Nausori and diverting all flights to Nadi. Not providing the connecting flight to Suva. if they do its like 3-4 hours wait at the Nadi Airport, with $20 meal voucher?? who does enjoy this service & its worse if you are travelling with a baby? Fiji Airways is making money by taking $$ flight to Suva & providing a crap service by diverting the flights to Nadi. I am born in Fiji & love to visit my families back home with my family but with this service??? My mum had a same experience back in November last year (ended in Hospital) & while I did lodge a complaint and got a response back in a month's time saying " due to adverse weather condition" lol. Who remembers the weather condition in a months' time unless you are travelling. Fiji Airways better improve your service.

A reasonable flight on the way out of Melbourne to Nadi with average meal and service. Seats were typical economy class. I think this flight was 737-800 but not sure.however on our return we were on a refurbished ( in my opinion ) plane 737-800. Economy class seats were the roomiest I have used and the flight attendants excellent. Meal was much improved too. Both flights were quiet, boarding and disembarking quick courteous and caring. Fiji airport was full of happy smiling and welcoming people so willing to assist.

Both outward and inward flight on time. No personal entertainment. Only a screen every 3. Rows, travelling with kids so nothing to entertain them. 2 families travelling together our bookings all linked yet we were split up which made it difficult to help with the 2 children in our group. Staff busy yet on return flight had one child screaming in a high pitched scream, for the whole flight, staff didn't do anything and the child in question kept everyone awake and on edge. Blankets and pillows smelt and unusable. 2nd time I have used this airline, its good only a relatively short flight.

Absolutely AWESOME customer service from Mel Watson and JC last Monday. THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!! After AirNZ cancelled their domestic flights my daughter Tarsh and her Dad (with dementia) had no option but to hire a car and drive from Bell Block to Auckland knowing they would likely not catch the flight in time. It was absolutely critical that they were on this flight and Mel and Jeanette pulled out all the stops to ensure they made it. Phone calls, google map directions, meeting them outside the terminal, and other help all ensured they made it onto the plane with only seconds to spare. We are so very grateful to these two lovely ladies for going the extra mile for them. What wonderful ambassadors for Fiji Air! My daughter was very impressed with the lovely plane and AWESOME service on the flight and in LA they were assisted through customs and immigration and onto a shuttle to collect their hire car . We cannot speak highly enough of Fiji Air and their wonderful staff. Linda McGuire and Tarsh Halverson Tarsh has given me feedback on the flights to Fiji and on to LA as below.

On time flights. Good service. Blanket and pillow provided free of charge. Good food and free drinks. At the front of the LAX check in line, an agent was expediting by prepping passengers to have passports ready, etc. We had 1 extra bag and were expecting to be charged an additional $125 per the website. The expediter hefted the extra bag, then our two regular bags to be checked. She suggested packing some of the third bag contents into our regular bags to bring the third down to carry-on size. We did and saved $125.

Customer Service verified this when I complained about my 24 hour delay! 26 of us were bumped that night. 30 were bumped the prior night. The night we took off they were asking for volunteers, again! The hotel staff where they put you up shared with us that this happens 2-3 times a week with Fiji Air! No other airline operates this way. 5 of us flew to Christchurch from LAX. On the return from Christchurch, Fiji Airways canceled my daughter-in-law's return ticket because she and my daughter had the same first and last name. They refused to let daughter-in-law board the flight unless we purchased a one-way ticket for her. The ticket agent promised that Fiji Airways would refund it since it was their mistake. After 10 phone calls and multiple emails, Fiji Airways refused. So we double paid for the return flight because of THEIR mistake. I lost $900 to this crooked airline. Do not fly Fiji Airways. We flew on the new airbus last October from Auckland to Nadi. I cannot fault this airline at all. The staff were fantastic with my three children, the food was good (typical airline food) the children were fed first which was great. The only thing was on the morning flight back it would have been nice to have a glass of bubbles (I am a nervous flyer) but they didn't serve any alcohol. We all had our own screens which made the trip go even faster. We are flying with Fiji Airways again this September but on the 737-800 which unfortunately doesn't have individual screens but it is only a three hour flight. Would definitely fly with Fiji Airways again lovely friendly staff and comfortable trip
