Air France is a decent airline providing at least an average experience in Premium Economy Class. What is not acceptable is their partnership with Delta Airlines. On two successive trips to Europe I booked with Air France, beginning with a flight on Delta from Sacramento and terminating in Paris with an additional Iberia flight to Madrid. On both trips Delta managed to screw something up. On the first trip – Sacto to Atlanta on Delta then Atlanta to Paris on Air France – I was not given the seat assignment I requested when I purchased the ticket online. Instead of an aisle seat I was re-assigned an interior seat. On the second trip Delta cancelled my afternoon flight and re-assigned me to a morning flight thereby giving me a five hour layover in Los Angeles. I complained to Air France, but they would not do anything about it. When I arrived in L.A. Air France refused to provide any assistance in having to deal with a 5 hour layover even though Delta is their partner in the U.S. My advice to fellow travelers: if you are going to travel on Air France do not book with Delta as well. Avoid Delta as Air France will not do anything to correct a problem initiated by its “partner” airline.
