Qatar offers teachers 21,000 free tickets

Teachers have just a few days to take advantage of 21,000 complimentary tickets on Qatar Airways to celebrate World Teacher’s day. The offer is open to teaching professionals from more than 75 countries in which Qatar operates and each country will receive a daily allocation from 4 am Doha time on October 5 to 3:59 am Doha Time on October 8. Those who successfully register will receive one economy class return ticket to anywhere on the airline’s current network of more than 90 destinations worldwide. READ: Lufthansa refunds reach a massive 3 billion euros. “We at Qatar Airways are incredibly grateful for the commitment and hard work of teaching professionals around the world who continue to educate our young people in these times of uncertainty,’’ Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar Al Bakar said. “We know that it has not been an easy task, yet teachers have been incredibly resourceful, turning to online learning and other methods. “As the largest airline flying consistently throughout the pandemic, we have also supported students in recent weeks by flying to wherever they need to be to start their studies on charter as well as scheduled flights. “As an airline, we firmly believe in the importance of education and are committed to lending our support to educational causes.” The Doha-based airline recently revealed plans to serve 124 destinations by the end of 2020 with a schedule it pledges “travelers can rely on”. Qatar has continued to operate through the coronavirus pandemic, taking on the mantle of the world’s biggest international carrier, and its expanded schedule will include 21 destinations in Africa, 10 in the Americas, 42 in the Asia-Pacific, 38 in Europe and 13 in the Middle East. “While no airline can predict with 100 percent certainty how the market will recover or future entry restrictions, our unrivaled experience accumulated by becoming the largest international carrier during this crisis uniquely positions us to build a realistic schedule of flights with confidence,’’ Al Baker said.
