Anyone else spotting a familiar tail? 👀 If you thought that looked like an old Virgin Australia aircraft—you're absolutely right.

The aircraft in question is a Boeing 737-800, formerly registered as VH-VOT under Virgin Blue and later Virgin Australia. Now operating for GetJet Airlines, this aircraft made headlines on Tuesday when it was photographed with its tail firmly on the ground at Haugesund Karmøy Airport in Norway.

📸 The cause? A weight distribution issue during disembarkation and unloading. Local media reports confirm that the incident occurred after all passengers had disembarked and luggage was removed—tipping the aircraft backwards onto its tail.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and the incident appears to have been a mishap rather than a mechanical failure.

While it's common for aircraft to change hands and liveries, spotting a bit of Aussie aviation history in Norway wasn’t something we expected this week.

🛫 Aircraft Details:

  • Original Operator: Virgin Blue / Virgin Australia

  • Original Registration: VH-VOT

  • Current Operator: GetJet Airlines

  • Aircraft Type: Boeing 737-800

  • Current Registration: LY-UNO

Have you ever flown on VH-VOT back in its Aussie days? Let us know if you’ve got any memories on this bird!
