Our favourite cabin crew uniform

By Airline Ratings Mon Jun 29, 2026
At AirlineRatings we have reviewed every cabin crew uniform in the industry, and while classic designs like those of Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines are beautiful and timeless, the Vietjet uniform was voted our favourite, mainly for its unique and fun style.
Vietjet's cabin crew uniform not only turns heads, it has also won Asia's Best Flight Attendant Wardrobe at the NOW Travel Asia Awards.
Most celebrated uniforms earn their place through couture or heritage. Singapore Airlines built its sarong kebaya around Pierre Balmain, Virgin Atlantic turned to Vivienne Westwood and Korean Air worked with Gianfranco Ferré, while others lean on national dress, from the Ao Dai at Vietnam Airlines to the silk Chut Thai at Thai Airways. Vietjet took a different path, winning on personality alone with a look that is playful, modern and full of fun.
Launched in 2013, the uniform complements the airline’s young, energetic image, serving as a modern brand identity. It is loved by passengers and judges alike and rivals global airline giants. If you fly with Vietjet, you will remember its uniform.

An award-winning look loved by all
Vietjet’s signature uniform was designed by a team of European designers, who took inspiration from the style of Vietnam’s youth army cadets. The uniform is smart, playful but remarkably on brand.
Female cabin crew wear a stylised red polo, a bow tie and plaid shorts, topped with a garrison cap. To further style the look, crew wear a brown belt and bright red shoes. Male crew keep it sleek and sharp, wearing black trousers, business shoes and the same striking red shirt.
In 2018, Vietjet won Asia’s Best Flight Attendant Wardrobe at the NOW Travel Asia Awards in Chengdu, China. Since 2012, the NOW Travel Asia Awards have recognised the region’s best brands.
However, the eye-catching uniform was already gaining attention the year before. The appeal of the uniform reached outside of Asia when Canada’s Viva Lifestyle and Travel magazine readers voted Vietjet among the world’s five most charming cabin crew, alongside Singapore Airlines, Emirates and Air France. For a low-cost carrier to be alongside global giants says it all.
Further industry awards
The award for its stylish wardrobe is far from the only trophy in Vietjet’s cabinet. In 2026, Vietjet won World’s Best Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier by AirlineRatings.com, the only airline to do this consecutively since 2018. It also holds a Seven Star Safety Rating.
CAPA, the Centre for Aviation, named Vietjet its Asia Pacific Low Cost Airline of the Year and the World Travel Awards called it Asia’s Leading Airline for Customer Experience. More recently, Vietjet was named a Global Best Place to Work at the World HRD Congress, where it also picked up two other human resources awards.

More than a decade on, the cadet-inspired uniform still sets Vietjet apart from its competitors. The uniform captures everything the airline aspires to be: young, bold, energetic and happy to do things its own way.
The trophies from the wardrobe to safety and service show that the airline is excelling in all areas of the industry. For Vietjet, looking good and flying well is what it does best.
