Boeing Working On Production Stability

Boeing is focused on the stability of production and thus deliveries to its customers as it strives to get aircraft certified and produce over 4,500 aircraft in its backlog.

Speaking to media ahead of the 54th Paris Air Show Boeing Commercial Airplane President Stan Deal (above) said that the company had secured over 1,000 orders since the Farnborough Air Show in 2022.

"We have really big orders from United, RyanAir, Riyadh Air, Saudi and Air India," said Mr Deal.

"Our major focus is to work diligently with the industry to recover from the disruption from COVID to stabilize production.

Mr Deal said that COVID had disrupted the skilled labour market and that is a major issue in the recovery.

On backlog said that "we have a very strong backlog of 4,600 aircraft and I am really proud of our product line of the 737 MAX, 767F, 787, 777 and 777-9".

On the MAX Mr Deal said that the aircraft had logged 4.5 million flight hours with 60 operators since re-entering service and the reliability is 99.5%.

"It's flying incredibly well."

On certification, Mr Deal said that the 737 MAX 7 will be certified in the second half of 2023 and the MAX 10 early in 2024.

"The program is going very well and we expect the 777-9 to be certified by mid-2025.
