Spirit Airlines review by Trudy 2017-03-05

I am an overseas traveller. I booked a ticket through cheap tickets.com from LA to Fort Lauderdale to connect with a flight to Europe.. Spirit Airlines was about $20 cheaper than their nearest competitor but it was the time of the flight that made me pick them as it suited my connection. First I only travel with a 6 kilo backpack so when cheap tickets said Spirit may charge luggage fees I assumed it was check in luggage. No options were given. After purchasing and paying the $10 cheap ticket booking fee which was added on I then received an email from Spirit wanting me to join their club, register as a member, do this do that etc. that is when I found out about how all the ridiculous fees. It was not like the airfare was cheap it was $130 one way. I then find out the luggage fee is per sector as there is a stopover in Vegas for 1 hr and a half so they want $80 Aud$110 to check my 6 kilo back pack. $10 to check in. I don't care about drinks and food but for Christ sakes how can you sell a ticket and then expect people to buy the seat. YOU JUST SOLD ME A DAMN SEAT. Anyway how I wish I had taken the American Airlines Ticket for $20 extra and saved myself the hassle and $120.
