    I was forced to check my carry-on with breakable items I purchased in Israel. My bag was well within the limits of what is an allowable carry-on and was the same one I used on the flight to Israel with no issues. The supervisor was extremely rude. I explained I had breakable items that will definitely break and she just said too bad. I was also lied to and told the plane was full- the seat next to me and few around me were empty- plenty of room for my bag. My travel companions all were allowed 2 carry-ons.
    As soon as I got to my destination I saw a plate had shattered. I immediately reported it to the Lufthansa office at the airport and was told they couldn’t do anything and to email customer service. No one mentioned having to do it within 7 days.Once I had time, I sent an email to customer service. The airline admitted I shouldn’t have been treated that way but because my email came in 9 days vs 7 – even though I reported it immediately at the airport- they refused to reimburse me all of $50 for my plate.

    Travelled BHX to BKK via FRA. BHX leg cant really be described as business class as its really just economy with the middle seat empty. Transfer at FRA a bit chaotic as was boarding. Flight from FRA to BKK was fantastic. Service top notch, food excellent and seats comfortable.

    LUFTHANSA, FRANKFURT-BAHRAIN-FRANKFURT Premium Economy
    I had tried BA’s disappointing Premium Economy and was looking forward to see if Lufthansa was any better. I was flying from LHR to Bahrain via Frankfurt. The Airbus A330 seating is a 2x3x2 layout with plenty of leg room and slightly wider seats than economy. A small amenity kit, and water bottle was provided, and a welcome soft drink in plastic cup. Soon after take off, a bar service was offered, followed by lunch, which was OK, and a snack just before landing. On my return flight, a tasty sandwich was served and later a hot breakfast. The scrambled eggs with Tandoori breast of chicken on top seemed a rather odd combination, and was rather bland. The seat back touch screen IFE monitor was easy to operate and had a limited selection of movies, both old and new. The crew although polite and professional were non-engaging, despite there were only eight passengers in the PE cabin. As for the seat itself, a few inches of recline, foot rest and adjustable head rest made the journey very comfortable.

    LUFTHANSA, LHR-FRANKFURT-LHR Business Class
    I usually don’t pay hugely inflated prices for European Business Class flights, where it’s just the economy seat with the empty middle seat. But I was on Premium Economy for the long haul part from Frankfurt to Bahrain, and was offered an upgrade to Business Class for the short haul sectors for a very low fee, which I took. And I was not disappointed. On boarding, I was greeted with a smile. The flight attendants were professional but not necessarily engaging, although they did address me by my name. No hot towel, welcome drink or IFE. But the food was excellent in both directions, considering it’s an hours flight. Outbound was a tasty cereal with fruits and on return, a delicious tuna salad with hot bread and premium brand bar service, with refills. I really enjoyed these flights and was impressed with the good service. The seats, though hardly any leg room, surprisingly felt comfortable too. Both flights were on time. But I still would avoid paying Business Class fares on European routes.

    Lufthansa provides a great service and I feel very safe flying with them. During my flight I suddenly felt unwell. The crew was amazingly professional. In a split second I had 2 doctors attending to me as I noticed the crew had arrange the doctor to change seat and seat behind me just in case. I fly regularly Lufthansa and other airlines and when I have the choice I prefer Lufthansa.
