On January 3rd I took TG484 Perth to Bangkok returning on January 8th to Perth on TG483, both sectors were in Business Class on the A330. To Bangkok the service was fine but rushed, the food average and the seat crap because it was not a lie flat bed. the flight was on time and schedule and the aircraft was clean.

On the return sector I was seated alongside another Passenger in the middle part of the cabin and the Staff kept passing food and drinks over from her side to me and would then travel down alongside me to present me with tea/coffee. They are a bizarre Cabin combo at Thai. On both sectors the Business Class Staff rush you to order your meal selection, leave the first drink (alcoholic or not) too long after the flight has settled, rush you to eat asap and then disappear on you and you have to chase them up for water or other sustenance. I had the beef ribs and they were very greasy (couldn’t finish, that bad) and the breakfast sandwich didn’t look that appealing so I settled for the cup of tea. I did notice most other Passengers finished everything on their plates so it could have just been me being fussy!

The Lounge in Bangkok is well appointed, there is a large array and style of seating too. However Qantas and Virgin leave them for dead when it comes to a selection of foods and drinks both hot and cold.

I would have liked to have left some more money in Thailand and purchased duty free liquor at the airport, unfortunately Thai Airways don’t allow you to bring it onboard! Oh well, there loss I suppose.

In the last month I have traveled on Singapore Airlines, Air China, United, Eva Air and American Airlines (all Business), Thai Airways don’t rate near the top.
