I’ve never had a Ryanair flight that was on time – delays are the norm. However, I must admit the cabin crew is usually friendly and helpful. That’s the only reason I’m not giving one star.

“Rude and Unprofessional Staff – Avoid if Possible” Traveled with Ryanair from London Stansted to Gdańsk (Feb 28, 2025) for my father-in-law’s funeral, only to be met with disrespectful and aggressive staff at Gate 46. We were charged £110 for check-in and later £75 for a slightly bulky (but underweight) cabin bag, which we accepted. However, when I asked for a receipt, staff rudely said, “Can you fix my printer?” and refused to provide one. One staff member then threatened us, saying, “Shut your mouth, or you will be offloaded,” leaving my wife in tears. Completely unacceptable behavior. To top it off, our flight was delayed nearly an hour (17:35 scheduled, took off at 18:28). Pay a little extra for an airline that respects its passengers. Ryanair needs to train staff in basic customer service.

Ryanair’s baggage policy feels unfair. No size check at check-in, yet unexpected fees at boarding when options to avoid charges are gone. Inconsistent enforcement—some oversized bags allowed, others not. Poor customer service, inconsistent process, and disappointing experience.

Dear Fellow Travelers, I'm compelled to share my recent experience with Ryanair as a cautionary tale. On December 2nd, 2023, my flight RK33 from Oslo Torp to London Stansted suffered a frustrating 5-hour delay, with virtually no communication from Ryanair, leaving passengers stranded and confused. Despite my efforts to seek compensation under EU Regulation (EC) No 261/2004, Ryanair was dismissive, offering generic responses and no meaningful resolution. They also insisted on compensating for food and drinks, but options at the airport were severely limited, leaving passengers with no alternatives. I share this not out of spite but to advocate for better treatment of passengers. We deserve transparency and respect. Think twice before booking with Ryanair, and let's work together to raise service standards. Warm regards.

Be more helpful, Ryanair. Ryanair? Avoid like the plague. Ground crew is really 0% helpful. We were unable to check in online due to a Wi-Fi failure on the airport. We expected some consideration from the Ryanair-staff. That was quite naive.. We soon found that out!! After a rather unpleasant conversation, with a rather unpleasant person, we had to pay £100 for our boarding passes. But they ONLY accepted credit cards! Which we didn't have. So we couldn't fly. Staff were ice-cold. That's how they are trained. Finally, a friend paid for us. But we had already missed our flight because of this. Now we had to rebook our tickets. Of course, again we received the emotionless treatment of the staff and an extra 200 pounds lighter, we were finally able to leave the pigsty that is London Stansted Airport. Ryanair takes advantage of the fact people don't own a credit card, and they do this on purpose. It's just a low strategy to make a bit of extra money.

Avoid flying with Ryanair. They have unreasonable policies and impose excessive fines if you don't follow them to the letter. You can't bring a small hand luggage (only a backpack). You need to pay 'priority' (a deceptive misnomer) to bring a small hand luggage. I had a backpack, but on my way back they claimed that it was bigger than what was allowed. I did put it in their box, but they claimed it didn't quite fit. They charged me £80 for a backpack. They refused to accept cash and refused to accept apple pay. Although I was willing to pay, they didn't help me and were ready to prevent me from boarding. I gave them my credit card and they claimed that it wasn't accepted. I had to log into my bank account to show them that they took the money. They let me board seconds before the gate was closed. I asked for a receipt. They would email it to me. They didn't. The argument is that because their flights are cheap they can treat passengers this way. But other budget airlines (e.g. Jet2) do not have absurd policies and their staff are helpful and respectful.
