On December 3, 2024, two LATAM Airlines (LA) aircraft were involved in a ground collision at Sao Paulo Congonhas Airport (CGH).

The incident occurred during taxiing when the wingtip of an Airbus A320neo, registered as PR-XBG, struck the tail of a stationary Airbus A319, registered as PT-TMS. The A320neo was taxiing for departure as flight LA3064 to Curitiba, while the A319 was parked at a stand, preparing for its scheduled flight LA3050 to Belo Horizonte.

Both flights were subsequently cancelled following the collision and passenger accomodated on other flights

The low-speed collision caused no injuries but resulted in damage to both aircraft, requiring inspections and repairs. Eyewitness reports on X (formerly Twitter) noted the extent of the damage and the operational disruptions caused by the incident.

LATAM Airlines has not yet issued an official statement regarding the event, but investigations into the cause are likely to follow as part of routine procedures for such occurrences.
