easyJet has been ranked 2nd by AirlineRatings.com in its World's Safest Low-Cost Airlines for 2024 in a close tussle with Jetstar and Ryanair.
In making its evaluation, AirlineRatings.com takes into account a comprehensive range of factors that include serious incidents, recent fatal accidents, audits from aviation’s governing and industry bodies, profitability, industry-leading safety initiatives, expert pilot training assessment and fleet age.
AirlineRatings.com Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas said the easyJet has a standout operation with a perfect safety record.
"The operational side of easyjet is outstanding and it shows with a very low serious incident rate," Mr Thomas said.
"Its pilot group are very professional as is its maintenance team."
easyJet has a fleet of 325 Airbus A320 family aircraft and 477 on order.
The Top Twenty low-cost airlines for 2024 are Jetstar, easyJet, Ryanair, Wizz, Norwegian, Frontier, Vueling, Vietjet, Southwest, Volaris, flydubai, AirAsia Group **, Cebu Pacific, Sun Country, Spirit, Westjet, JetBlue, Air Arabia, Indigo and Eurowings.
