American Airlines is one of the largest carriers in the world and placed sixth in the 2026 Airline Ratings World's Best Hybrid Airlines. Flagship business is a flat bed on long-haul routes, and new Boeing 787-9s with Flagship Suites are a clear step above the older Boeing 777s and 787-8s. The Flagship lounges were runner-up for World's Best Branded Lounge. Domestic narrowbody cabins have tight seat pitch, entertainment is increasingly streaming only and cabin service consistency varies widely.
