Planes used for flights from San Francisco to Istanbul are old. They are cramped in economy more so than other airlines, and in business class they don't lay flat. Flight attendants are ok. Furthermore, I cant stand their customer service. I flew with them quite a lot, and whenever I had to contact them over the phone or email regarding an issue, I absolutely hated the experience. The call center is in Turkey. Communication can be difficult at times, and they seem to be very rigid and unreasonable. One concrete example - my suitcase was damaged, and I submitted a claim. I submitted it less than 7 days since the arrival time of the flight. But they rejected my claim because it was a few hours more than 7 days since the departure time! The fact that they went by departure time as opposed to arrival time doesn't make sense to begin with, and then being so rigid about the few hours just shows how bad the customer service is. Bottom line - cant stand this airline
