Don't believe the extreme hype about this airline: their Economy class is variable and, overall, certainly not good enough to win any awards. Of particular disappointment was their 777 service from Abu Dhabi to Melbourne yesterday: the plane was tired looking and felt very cramped, and the crew forgot to bring me a meal despite me reminding them. There was also no amenity pack with socks or toothbrushes, which is unusual for such a long flight, and paper towels were not restocked in the bathroom, which was also not kept clean. Snacks and water, however, were in plentiful supply, and flight crew did circulate around the cabin with water between meal services. The A380 service from Heathrow to Abu Dhabi was far better: attentive, cheerful, professional crew, and a more spacious, less dingy cabin interior. Both A380 services from Australia via Abu Dhabi to London a few weeks ago felt adequate only. The configuration of the A380 felt slightly cramped at the back of the aircraft, and staff scarcely circulated at night between meal services, leaving passengers without supplies of fresh water. An amenity pack was provided, but there was not always enough food on these flights. EDITORS COMMENT: Thanks for your informative review its good to know.
