TAP Portugal review by Virgil 2016-09-26

My wife and I, were anticipating our trip to Portugal from 9/11-10/5. I was informed that you can bid to upgrade your seats. I decided to bid so that my wife and I would be more comfortable, especially since my wife has severe arthritis and the extra space would be better for her health. I received and email stating that I won the bis and would be paying $4000 for the upgrade. I thought that meant upgrade for 9/11/16 going to Portugal and 10/5/16 returning flight, because if i had paid $400 more I didn't even have to do bidding, i could of just upgraded on my own. No one informed me it was just going and not returning, it was very confusing to me that it wasn't for round trip flight. I would not have paid that amount of money without roundtrip. When i called TAP in USA, i was told I needed to talk to them in Portugal to get my return flight upgraded at no charge because of the high price i had already paid for upgrade. No one could help me in Portugal, they gave me phone numbers and they did not work.
