Air Asia made my life a living hell. I missed my flight for a few minutes and was forced to buy another ticket with no right to re-scheduling. I purchased a new ticket and slept at the airport, just so the flight was re-scheduled for 5h later on the next day! There was none available on their offices for support. It was an experience I never want to be part again. EDITORS COMMENT: All low cost airlines would have the exact same policy - all airlines do when you buy the cheapest fare to start with. The cheapest fare comes with no flexibility - if you need to change anything or you miss your flights you basically need to buy a new ticket. It doesn't seem fair but it's also the reason we have such cheap airfares these days. Cut off times are strict as they need to work out the load for re-fuelling and takeoff speed etc therefore once that cut off time has been reached they don't let anyone else through.
