I had a ticket for BMI-DTW-JFK-KEF and back. On outbound leg I got stranded in NY for 24 hrs because flight from Detroit was late. They tried to sock me with the hotel bill, falsely claiming that the delay was due to weather. Didn't get away with it because the young fellow at the gate had already told me that the delay was due to maintenance. On the return leg, they cancelled the flight from NY to Detroit, due to "weather" , 3 hours ahead of scheduled departure. Other carriers had no trouble flying into DWT, or out of JFK. This time I got stuck with the $180 hotel bill. I guess that if it is snowing or raining in Timbuktu they feel justified in cancelling any flight that is not sufficiently full. On two other trips, in years past, I have been left stranded, at my own expense, for a total of 5 days. I had to find last moment alternate transportation with other carriers on my own initiative and thousands of dollars of out of pocket expense. They lost my luggage and then delivered it mangled. In terms of customer service I can only rate this carrier as "The airline from Hell".
