Terrible experience - I had a carry-on bag that met the guidelines and I had to get the bag checked-in. Yet right in front of me, another passenger had the same size bag and was allowed to take their bag as a carry-on. The same bag was allowed as a carry-on heading to my destination by the way but somehow too large heading back...nothing different. Will do anything in my power to not have to fly American Airlines again.
