An experience of opposites. On the positive side: - modern, clean planes, comfortable, lie-flat seats & comprehensive entertainment system. - great amenity sets, with a good selection of branded goodies. - delicious food the staff will tailor for you if they can. - New Istanbul airport is one of the best in the world. Large, spacious with plenty top retail opportunities. The lounge is spacious, plenty of seats with an impressive selection of 'food stalls' serving delicious food and Barista level coffee. On the negative side: - the staff on board are efficient but definitely not warm or friendly. - the departure process at Istanbul airport is one you need to know about. Passport control is before boarding, announced only in Turkish with grumpy, surly staff. - They changed our return reservation and insisted we confirm the flight. We tried, many times, to contact customer care in Istanbul and Bangkok. Neither answered the phone, even after 15 minutes. The only way we managed to get attention was by using social media. We must have wasted a half day of our vacation trying to get through! Horrendous experience! Overall, great products and average to poor service.
