Vueling cancelled my flight 2 hours before departure. They proposed an alternative flight 3 full days later. It was not possible for me to take this alternative flight as I would have missed Christmas with my family. After being blocked in the airport for 2 hours as they did not allow for passengers to leave, I was finally able to get to the train station, but the last train had already left. I had to get a hotel and book a ticket early the next morning, which cost me about three times my plane ticket. Vueling refused to compensate me for my flight cancellation, or to reimburse my hotel night, and gave me no explanation as to their decision, after 6 email exchanges with their customer support. This was in clear violation of the European Air Passenger Rights, so I escalated this issue with the Civil Aviation Authority. Very disappointed, lost a lot of money and had to go through quite an ordeal to finally leave the UK, vueling was unhelpful, unprepared, unresponsive and finally disrespectful. I would not recommend this airline
