Unfortunately we had a flight with Turkish Airlines as a family of 2 adults and 1 infant from Istanbul to London via Warsaw. They could NOT check us in within 2 hours even though we were at the airport in time. They could NOT transfer us to another flight the next 6 hours after the plane was gone. Oversold tickets caused the system failure. I saw travelers with the tickets in their hands but no seat on board. They kept us 6 hours in the queues to transfer me as the rest of the family was already transferred. (Apparently system was not allowing my transfer due to being transferred 3 times already, 4th was not allowed by the system.) I always wondered what supervisors do for Turkish Airlines anyway. I was sent from this counter to that counter. When finally they transferred us AS A FAMILY after waiting 8 hours in the queues, that particular flight was delayed another hour, keeping us at the airport for 9 extra hours (from 10:15 in the morning until 21:30 take off time), in total 11 hours with the initial check in waiting time, hungry and thirsty. When asked no compensation rewarded. They simply said "According to our investigation you applied to check-in desk at 12:13 for the flight at 12:25. It's not our fault. We already gave you free direct tickets to London" Would you believe it? What a privilege? WOWW FREE TICKETS! Okay, my question is, if it wasn't Turkish Airlines fault, why did you give us free tickets in an extremely high season? It was a terrible experience especially with an infant being in the queues hungry and thirsty such a long time. Thanks to Turkish Airlines our 1.5 year old boy experienced 11 hours total airport waiting time plus the midnight train and taxi service in London which we thought was very inconvenient I filled feedback form 3 times; they all disappeared from Turkish Airlines System. Also I mentioned about this experience in their facebook -English and Turkish- page and twitter. Well! They don't like complaints. They got rid of them shortly and blocked me to comment any more. Well done Turkish Airlines, Another unhappy customer you have. That does not make Turkish Airlines still claim to be the best in Europe though. To me that is NONSENSE!!!
