I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Turkish airlines that I feel compelled to share. I booked a flight from lax to tel aviv and tel aviv to lax, roundtrip. from israel to istanbul, my plans disrupted due the war. Understandably, flights were being canceled left and right, and I was informed that my flight was one of them.

The nightmare began: Turkish airlines not only failed to provide any assistance but also refused to refund my money for the canceled flight. Despite the fact that the circumstances were beyond my control and that flights were not operating outside of Israel, they insisted on keeping my hard-earned cash.

The lack of empathy and understanding from their customer service team was astounding. Instead of offering alternatives or working towards a solution, they simply brushed off my concerns and pointed to their “no refund” policy.

Overall, my experience with turkish airlines was nothing short of a nightmare. Their lack of flexibility, empathy, and poor customer service have left me feeling cheated and utterly disappointed. I strongly advise against using their services. I had emailed there customer relations department with no answer for months

By mistake I took Turkish airlines again after 5 years hoping the experience will be better than it was the last time but it was not.
I flew on a return ticket from Los Angles to Istanbul to Karachi, Pakistan changing planes in Istanbul. The planes they are using are still too small, 3 by 3 by 3 seaters Or 2 seat, 4 seat & 2 seat plane. Turkish Air you need bigger planes for these long flights with more seat space. Passengers are so cramped, like sardines in a tin-can. If someone lowers the seat in front, you have to lower yours otherwise their seat is right in your face. All the movies are old, the sounds system is not great either. Inflight service: You ask the flight attendant for cookies; they don’t have any. Ask for fruit, they don’t have any, ask for a snack with chocolate, they don’t have any. Turkish air is a major airline but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to passenger comforts.

I flew from Budapest on December, 28 and was supposed to land in Sydney on the morning of December, 30 But when I arrived at my gate in Istanbul to get my transfer flight to Kuala Lumpur (TK 60, 29 December 2023, connecting flight to Sydney TK 4813) a flight attendant stood in front of me and rudely said that the flight was overbooked and my seat was already occupied.
Finally, I was taken to the hotel and got next day a flight to Bangkok !!! ( TK64) and a connecting flight to Sydney that arrived on the morning of December 31.
Unfortunately, almost the same story happened on January, 15 on my way back to Budapest from Sydney ( TK 8172, TK 61) At the check-in desk at Sydney Airport, I wasn’t given a seat on my final transfer flight from Istanbul to Budapest (TK 1035) and again on my arrival to Kuala Lumpur I had to spend an hour and almost losing my temper on transferring desk begging to get a seat to my confirmed ticket.

It was a comfortable and fun flight. I really liked their food and drinks. After the meal, instead of dessert, I chose a fruit plate, which contained many fresh fruits. The seats were also comfortable, I had a pain-free flight.
