DO NOT USE THAI AIR – they left me stranded in Dubai after I missed a connecting flight through no fault of my won .. they did not offer me an alternative flight … they advised a hotel stay for 3-4 days whilst they looked for a cheap flight … and I booked business class ..I had a business class flight scheduled on Dec 12 2022 … Manchester > Copenhagen -Bangkok
We arrived in Dubai late and was informed the flight had gone. Emirates then informed me that I had to speak with Thai Air to get another flight issued.
I spent over an hour phoning Thai Air (BKK) with nobody picking up the phone.
I then spoke with Thai Air (Dubai) who informed me that they did not have any alternative flights and suggested that I buy a new ticket and then claim the funds back later. I then paid £1279.43 for a Kuwaiti Airline flight out of Dubai > Kuwaiti > Bangkok…
Thai Air abandoned me in Dubai …

On this daytime flight, after a nice lunch the window blinds were lowered and cabin lights turned off. We were kept in a darkened cabin for some 9 hours. And it became obvious the flight was arranged for the convenience of Thai Airways and their staff and not for the best interests of their customers.

Other than to bring hot towels and give out bags of popcorn, the crew did no more than serve two meals and hide behind curtains. For one period of 4 hours no one passed through the cabin. And we never received proactive attention to make us feel valued in exchange for the £4,000 we had paid.

The seats were narrow, with less than satisfactory control of the recline feature. There was no optional mattress.

Having travelled between London and Bangkok every year for the past 8 years, we had decided to try Thai Airways for a change and with some positive expectations. Sadly our experience was the very opposite. At every turn the likes of Emirates, Oman and Etihad put them to shame, never inflict darkness during daytime hours, constantly make their customers feel valued – and tend to charge less for doing so

I am giving my age away, but I am one of many who consider the 747 the ‘Queen of the Skies’. So I was thrilled to see that our first leg on our flight from Mumbai to Chiang Mai was onboard a Thai Airways 747-400.

They say you should never go back to childhood memories, like where you grew up. The same goes for aircraft. The “Queen” that took us from India to Thailand was a tired old lady. The seats hadn’t been cleaned in ages and some were broken. The monitors in the seat backs were still original equipment.

The staff on the other hand were amazing. From the moment we w=arrived at check-in to final farewell on disembarkation – it was smiles, smiles and more smiles. If this review were on service alone it would be 10 thumbs up. But then the food was served – a bitter disappointment.

Our connecting flight (Bangkok to Chiang Mai) onboard one of Thai Airways’ newer A330s was a refreshing change. Everything worked, the staff were great and luckily the flight was too short for a meal, other than a light snack (which was okay).
