    Swiss International canceled my flight, did not offer any alternative and refused any compensation.

    As the world was locking down Swiss canceled my flight. I don’t have a problem with that. I called them on the phone and after a long wait they told me that I had to call the travel agent (Expedia) who sold me the ticket. I called Expedia and after multiple tries and long waits got through to a helpful person who told me that Swiss International still had a flight scheduled for the same day from Newark rather than JFK. I told them that would be fine and waited on the phone while Expedia attempted to rebook. This proved impossible because Swiss would not provide them the code they needed. I gave up and was unable to fly anywhere.

    After the fact I had repeated contact with Expedia, who unlike Swiss International would answer the phone, about getting a refund, voucher or whatever. Expedia was good. Swiss is awful! The final word from Swiss International was delivered via email through Expedia that any refund was refused due to “rules and restrictions.”

    Swiss is one of the best airlines worldwide, and the prices for Eco tickets are sometimes surprisingly modest.

    The only point for criticism is that in the European flights they serve always the same cheese sandwich which is not exactly a hit.

    Swiss was good, but has become one of the worst airlines. In Switzerland this airline is kind of a monopoly which gives them the advantage / privillege to operate like this. Customer service is extremely bad, rude and with a passive aggressive “I don’t really care” style, generally not helpful, or if they help, they make customers feel they bother them. Flights are always late, planes not clean, I have photos of chewing gums stuck on seats, bread crumbs and salad oil on table, totally disgusting. Food is nothing to mention, I never even have it when in economy class anymore. Business class is not worth mentioning either. Swiss business class is like economy class in Qatar, Emirates, Thai or Qantas. Only more ridiculously overpriced. Business & Gold card holder Lounges are no big deal at all. Even after a major renovation In Zurich main lounge, nothing changed. Other things: often website problems, ticketing issues, laughable in flight entertainment etc. Pricing: Expensive both business & economy, definitely not worth it. I would most definitely not recommend Swiss. It is sad, they represent Switzerland and the way they conduct their business gives Switzerland bad name.

    I took this airline several times, short and long haul flights.
    I won’t recommend this airline.
    1. The worst customer service:
    -didn’t help with questions via phone. She even raised her tone.
    – The worst one: at check in counter, the staff refused to take off my passport’s plastic without reason and asked me to do that. When I refused, she took off the plastic and said that she cancelled my flight because of this incident. I then asked another officer and she defended herself to her. The other officer helped me to check in in anpther counter. They didn’t apologize. She lied by saying cancel my flight, there is no right to cancel my flight and her attitude was bad. No control from management. Very poor customer service and no help.
    2. In my experience, the flights was always delayed by at least an hour, where at least 20 minutes delayed was inside the cabin.
    3. Food was so poor, only sorbet to Zürich.
    4. For long haul flight, the entertainment also bad.
    5. My baggage was scratched when I got it back. Really bad handling.
    6. Overpriced for their bad service.
    Tips: avoid this airline.

    One of my worst experiences ever with an airline!
    One of my flights was cancelled without the airline company bothering to inform me. So I finally found out about it when I tried to check in. When I asked why it was cancelled I got the bogus answer because of “unexpected flight safety shortcoming”. What it actually meant was that it was cancelled because there weren’t enough passengers on that flight to make it profitable and so they decided to just cancel the flight and move all passengers to another flight 6 hours later.
    I really would not recommend to anybody flying with them since you can’t be sure you’ll get there on the day and time you planned to!
