I flew on an A321 Singapore – Hanoi then Hanoi – Can Tho and then Ho Chi Minh – Singapore. I am dissatisfied with the service I have received onboard. The aircraft was dated, magazines outdated and even the safety card was in a mess. I sat at the emergency exit row on the flight to Hanoi and instead of giving the mandatory safety briefing, the steward just said bluntly: ‘ Don’t touch’ while gesturing at the aircraft door. This is an obvious breach of safety regulations. On the flight to Hanoi, the staff were unsmiling, moody and lacked the service quality I would have expected from a flag carrier. The rest of the flights were much better. The food on board was passable, lacking the quality I would have liked to see. The domestic flight was operated on the same aircraft as the international flights so it was sufficiently comfortable. The staff on the flight to Hanoi refused to move the galley cart during meal service causing passengers to be stuck behind them waiting to use the toilet when the staff could have just made way for the passengers instead of keeping such a large group of them waiting. I am sorely disappointed with my experience onboard this flag carrier.
