Philippine Airlines review by Cris 2016-01-08

Manila to Brisbane via Darwin in an A320 is probably stretching the aircrafts (Etops) capabilities, and most definitely stretches passenger tolerance.

The economy cabin sets new standards for small even for single aisle craft. Perhaps even for canned sardines. My daughter renamed it Export Class, and this is the best clue to its purpose, performance and passengers.

The inflight entertainment is non existent. Well not quite. The semi controlled takeoff and landing were so bad we tore up our tickets and changed airlines to QANTAS for the return journey. Seriously, we wondered if PAL had used this as a check flight for a 9th Officer

The food, inedible. I’m being kind.

The staff wonderfully friendly. Completely inept.

The aircraft – minimum service tolerance and on the verge of ‘no go’.

There are reasons this airline had previously been barred from controlled and regulated airspace. However if you desire seat of your pants flight experiences and believe the laws of probability demand this airline will get you to your destination, then book a ticket and enjoy the ride.

However, if you would prefer to travel commensurate with this century, take a different airline.
