Oman Air review by Peter H.

I flew with Oman Air in November 2025, both in business class and economy. This was, without exaggeration, the worst airline experience I have ever had. Business Class – Outbound The first flight was delayed by 2.5 hours due to de-icing. That can happen, and I can accept that. But I had paid for lounge access specifically for the transfer, and because of the delay I had to run to the connecting flight. So the lounge was entirely wasted. Once on board, things got worse: • Almost nothing from the business class menu was available; only chicken with rice. • No “any time dining” – just a single service shortly after takeoff. • No breakfast service, even though it was on the printed menu. • No amenity kit because they “ran out”. • No turndown service. • No pyjamas, even though Oman Air normally provides these in business class. In short: I paid for a full business class product but received a stripped-down, budget version that was absolutely not worth the money. Aircraft Change & Economy Seat Problems When I booked, both long-haul segments were supposed to be on a Dreamliner, with decent space in economy. One week before departure they swapped the Muscat – Bangkok flight to a smaller aircraft with noticeably tighter seats. For someone who is 1.88m tall, this is simply painful. Comfort is important, and Oman Air failed completely. Chaotic Schedule Change Before Return Flight Two days before our return flight, Oman Air sent a message saying the BKK departure would be three hours later. This meant our connection in Muscat was no longer possible. I called Oman Air. They told me they would rebook us to the day before. The next day nothing had changed. When I called again, they suddenly claimed the schedule “had always been like this” and that I must have made a mistake. They refused to rebook anything. Trip.com (where I booked the tickets) ended up fixing it, but we lost one full day of vacation because of Oman Air’s incompetence and denial. Paid for an Extra Seat – Oman Air Gave It Away Because I need more legroom and all extra-legroom seats were already taken, I bought three seats instead of two for the return journey. It cost me €100 per segment, so €200 total. I paid and received official confirmation. At the airport, they simply gave my extra seat to someone else “because the flight was full.” No space, no comfort, no empty seat – and no automatic refund. I now have to email and chase my own money. Summary • A business class product that doesn’t deliver what is promised (food, service, amenities). • Last-minute aircraft downgrade to tighter, uncomfortable economy seating. • Schedule changes handled with zero responsibility and even blame-shifting to the customer. • Extra seat purchased and confirmed, then reassigned to someone else without compensation. Conclusion: I have never experienced an airline this unreliable and inconsistent. Next time, I will simply fly EVA Air again — like we used to — and avoid Oman Air completely.

Oman Air crashed on their 1st flight with me!! I was trying to check my booking to ensure everything was all OK with Oman Air. To my shock the reservation number I had did not show up on their website. I had booked my return leg directly through their website at a cost of 1400AUD which was deducted from my account at the time. Their website had popped up a screen saying there is no booking in existence. I had booked my trip on 6th of June 2023. My return leg was on 19th July. I was left in total disgust as to the trap I had fallen into. The magical answer is, they have a small fleet of aircraft and to ma imise their revenue and profits, if you do not call their MUSCAT centre, your flight gets cancelled and they ask you to book another flight from Sounds strange yeah, because Oman Air is baiting you to rebook with them at the maximum price prior to your flight. Good luck to you, if by chance you get a better service.

Worst experience with an airline ever! The peak of impudence: when checking in online for the return flights, we were offered "premium seats" for the two flights: we spent 100€ because extra leg room and space was suggested. We did this because the outbound flight was quite modest in terms of comfort. Big surprise and frustration when boarding: the "premium seats" are stinking normal economy seats and there were no benefits for the money paid. This is a deliberate deception or fraud of the airline on the customer! I have criticized this in writing and demanded my money back. After 2 weeks l received an email with a lot of bla bla but they hid behind the policies that these tickets were not refundable. Pathetic and criminal! Once and never again Oman Air!

They need to make their connected flights systems better, we had a transit for one hour, due to delayed flight we missed that and were forced to be at the airport for 10 hrs. though hotel was provided but the flight delay cost us heavy.

Oman Air Economy Prime is SCAM! We booked economy prime, which was supposed to be fully refundable and flexible. When our itinerary changed and applied for refund, we did not get a penny back. After three months of writing and calling to Oman Air “utterly despicable” customer service here is what Oman Air replied “We noted that it has been partially utilized. Based on the calculation of the fare basis on your ticket, the utilized sector value is higher than the remaining sector. Thus, there will be no amount to be refunded.” So, we lost $1,500.00 refund on two tickets.

Casual attitude to safety in a rapidly growing airline. I flew from London to Kuala Lumpur via Muscat on 26 September. On arrival into KL, the cabin seat belt indicators were not switched on. Nor was there any effort by the crew to check for loose objects. I spoke to the Captain and he checked that the seatbelt indicators were working. But there was no apparent procedure for reporting this mistake by the flight crew. Tolerating small mistakes leads to bigger mistakes... Good service overall, though the ground service is struggling to keep up. In lots of small ways. Hopefully they will improve their discipline on safety which should be the number 1 priority.

I had four long distance business class flights with Oman Air. First 2 flights were good, but last 2 flights with some problems. I asked for sleepers, but only after fourth or fifth request I could get them.I didn't understand why, but It happened on both flights. I made online check in, but they changed my seat during boarding, There were no passengers other then me, but I had to wait for bording long time. I understand that it happens sometimes, but my seat which I have chosen was free. I thouhgt I could sit in that seat after take off, but Oman air stewardess who was there as passenger took the seat before take off. Maybe not big problems, and not that important, but they occured consecutevly so made my flights a little unpleasant.
