A very solid flight for the price paid. Legroom was surprisingly better than expected and the crew were nice. They did damage my bag but other then that a satisfactory price

JQ402 SYD-OOL was very good especially the efficient boarding and on-time take-off. However, the return flight was the stuff of nightmares. The vast majority of the passengers was travelling to Sydney for the Taylor Swift concert. Their inane, like, conversations throughout, like, the whole flight was not the fault of the airline nor their singing. But there is no excuse for playing Taylor Swift songs over the PA at a volume so loud the songs were distorted. Who knows the sensitivities of those passengers not travelling to the concert? Statistics would indicate many on board have no interest in the latest pop star and could well be travelling while dealing with grief or illness for example. Cabin crew failed to display the appropriate awareness of their passengers.

Flew Newcastle - Cairns. Delayed 3-hours. Standard for them as 40% of all their flights delayed. No staff around to keep us informed. Cramped appalling seats, rude staff, not cheap once you include a bag. 8% cancelled rate so should be thankful they got me there at all. One of the worst airlines on earth. Australia needs a passenger compensation scheme to reign in this mob’s behaviour.

Most of the experience is similar to other low cost companies (no perks, charges for meals, etc.). Main difference is their baggage policy. The allow for max 7kg and they weight your luggage (MEL- AYR) at the gate. Then they charge a AU$65 upgrade that does not provide any additional benefits if you want to board. This additional cost may change the airline chosen

JetStar, what can I say.... recently I flew Perth to Bali return and Sydney to Perth. The international flights were surprisingly good. It would the seem the international operation is far more efficient and professional. Also the aircraft seating on the A320 is by far better than the domestic A321 which is cramped. If the domestic flight was 2 hours or less then it wouldn't be so bad, but on the longer flight (Sydney to Perth) just not suitable.

JET STAR needs to be more organized. They lost my check in the bag on November 18, 2022, until today, December 7, 2022, Singapore to Manila Flight Number: 3K761. They just gave me a piece of paper for an incident report. And today, they told me I must file an online report for my case. They lost my Samsonite Wheeled Backpack, Philippine Passport, Metrobank Bank, China bank Passbooks, and ATM. My Philippine driver's license & Health card, 4 U.S.A. Business Chase bank checks, eyeglass CARTIER, headphones, blanket, pen, Prescribe Diabetic Medical device, 4 pcs FreeStyle Libre 2, Computer accessories, Cellphone Chargers, etc. I had to spend money for Taxi twenty times going to NAIA Airport to contact Jetstar, Manila Airport Police, and a Philippine Banks Lawyer for an affidavit. I have to pay bank fees for lost ATM and Passbook. I have to visit Chase Bank to report my stolen checks and will pay bank fees for check replacements. I will spend money on San Francisco's Philippine Embassy for the loss Philippine Passport. I will spend two days at Bank and San Francisco Philippine embassy. By 2023, purchase a plane ticket to recover a Philippine health card & driver's license.

I had to cancel a flight booked for next week due to COVID problems. I did it about 2 hours ago and have already received my credit voucher- very impressed with the easiness of how to do it and even more impressed with the swiftness of the service. Not ever flown Jetstar but feel most confident when I get to use my credit I will be most satisfied. Thank you

I'm absolutely appalled Jetstar is not willing to issue a refund for our flight. We're currently REQUIRED to shelter in place for our own safety during this world pandemic. Not to mention many of the international borders are CLOSED and we're unable to fly. Yes, we're all affected by this pandemic, and I understand the airline industry is hurting, but don't attempt to profit off of your customers who aren't even able to utilize your services. Issuing your customers a voucher that expires within 6 months is not acceptable. It's not like we can just put our life on pause and travel whenever we wish. These trips take a ton of planning and coordination to pull off, and the fact Jetstar is unwilling to empathize with their customers during this difficult time is a perfect example of the kind of company that puts ethics to the side in order to benefit themselves for the short-term. Disgusting.

Jetstar flight Experience very disappointing Most budget airlines provide free coffee and water. Jetstar charges for coffee and water. No transfer of luggage between airports where transfer is on parent airline - made very tight connection almost impossible. Insufficient staff to provide wheelchair assistance Improper baggage handling of walker No in flight entertainment

My parents are 80 years old and haven't been to visit me in 16 years. They were due to fly to Tokyo (27/11/2019) today to Tokyo on to visit me but their JETSTAR flight was cancelled. They woke up at 3am to get to Tullamarine airport in time for their morning flight. Then they were told the flight was delayed and then cancelled. They were told they needed to call QANTAS because they originally booked through Qantas. Its funny they were able to do it with JETSTAR the fist time. So they then proceeded to call QANTAS. They were told their staff were busy and there was a 2 hour wait until they could speak to an operator. They were calling from the airport and hence using their iPhone. Their iPhone battery was getting low with all the calling and they could not wait another 2 hours on the phone. So then I found that: 'Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce - topped the list of Australia's highest-paid chief executives in 2018, taking home $23.9 million. Couldn’t you reduce it a few million, Alan? And have proper customer service so people ACTUALLY like QANTAS and have good memories of it?

If there is a '0' score, I will score Jetstar '0'. I am actually a regular Jetstar customer until today I flew back to Melbourne. Someone smoked in the airplane, yes, damn right someone was smoking on the airplane, it's Jetstar airplane. And I raised this issue to a male flight attendant, but he was really helpless and was questioning if the smell was real. And after he wandered around, he came back to me, said something smelled, but not from cigarettes. The funniest thing was that before airplane was landing, manager of flight attendant announced that it's a non-smoking flight, but unfortunately someone did even they mentioned so many times, however, they were neither acting to find who's smoking nor coming back to us to explain what happened. Their action conflicts with their own policy, a big no no.... If I could give them a '0' score, I would.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. We originally booked to fly to Phuket from Business via Sydney in Business class (between states was only upfront seats but sydney to phuket was in business class) got to the airport, flight was cancelled. After 4 hrs we rebooked our holiday for 2 days later and was promised our seats would stay the same. After flying from Brisbane to Melbourne, waiting 5 hrs, going thru business class check in and boarding, we got into the plane and was told it wasnt happening that way, heres your economy seats (that you paid $500 extra to sit in) sorry about that cherrio. I WILL NEVER FLY WITH JETSTAR AGAIN. Your shocking service, lying staff members and crappy compromises will just not do anymore!

Flight was cancelled. Couldn’t get us alternative flight to Sydney within 24hours. On call for next flight- it is also cancelled. Drive to Ballina to fly out morning next day. Lose day in Sydney, lose accommodation cost, costs us fuel, night accommodation in Ballina and parking costs. The final straw is on return journey our luggage is 6kg over (combined 3 people), same weight as when we flew there, and they charged us $120 - what the. Could have charged us $60 for one person being over or $45 to check one bag but nope charge us for two bags being over (weren’t aloud to split with between three of us). Plus they let another family through that was over without charge. How can they pick and choose- this is discrimination. They were rude and didn’t care that they had already cost us over $400 for our one day holiday that was meant to be a weekend away for my sons birthday. Was a regular customer and had a Jetstar card. Talk about kicking you while you are down. Shame on you Jetstar.

Cabin Staff are friendly, checkin staff not so much. Budget Airline with cramped and badly designed terminals (especially the new Melbourne one), pretty poor service and cramped cattle class seating They don't update flight statuses at the gate or in the terminal, not sure if its because the staff are too busy, or they are just used to being late and think if its less than 30 mins it does not matter to passengers?

From Queensland to Sydney I was charged A$60 for 2kg excess of hand luggage. There was items I could have disposed of to come within the limit. No opportunity to do that. Put under time pressure, despite adequate time before departure. Ground staff handling the weighing of hand luggage very arrogant. Was told outright I’d i have a problem call customer service. I did exactly that. Call 3 agents via online chat. Same message “Sorry Sir that you are disappointed, however this is strict policy.....” dont be fooled by the low cost fare. Be careful of the extras which could be more than the ticket.

My Daughter travelled to Melbourne with Jetstar. She tried unsuccessfully numerous times to check in online. It constantly came up with either an error or time out message. We decided that we would explain it at the airport and at worst be charged a small extra fee. They were not only not helpful but rude and charged her $160 for one checked bag!! We ended up paying as they would offer no alternative. My daughter arrived at the airport excited and looking forward to her trip but left check in in tears from the rude service. I contacted Jetstar by web chat (you can't speak to them). They were equally unhelpful. They asked if we took a screen shot. we didn't as we had no idea this would turn into what it did. The ticket was booked on Kayak.com and there was no mention of these crazy fees. Even on the Jetstar site, it was very hard to find. They offered a $50 voucher. No use for someone living in Seattle! It would have been far cheaper to pay the extra for a Qantas flight. I used to think US airlines were bad. They have been out done! I recommend anyone looking to book in Australia to add up the real cost and try a different airline.

1. I dont know from the list that I am reviewing Jetstar Australia since it doesn't say this beside it in the list. It does list the other countries. 2. I find it difficult to find the check in site as when you google check in on line it gives you the details on how you can not the actual place to do it. 3. On my flight package starter I booked this over the phone with Jetstar I didn't know I had $15 credit therefore didn't purchase before hand therefore did not get the meal I wanted sold out. 4. I was offered a seat next to the exit which had slightly more leg room which I thought was good but I wasn't told that the seat didn't recline. If I had know I wouldn't have taken it. 5. I have checked in on line twice now but still have to line up if I have baggage. Doesn't seem to be any point in checking in for passengers like myself with luggage just very frustrating in trying to find the site and then realize there is no point anyway. This is the site I get when I google instead of the actual check in site . Click on the first option and you get another site? https://www.jetstar.com/au/en/help/tags/checking-in

My flight was cancelled and I was rebooked for about 24 hours later. Hotel was covered. Food voucher was $30 for a 24 hour period (not enough). Our old flight was direct, however the new flight went through a domestic airport. This destroyed out duty free plans. We had to purchase duty free and then travel with it through the domestic airport. This caused our hand luggage to go over minimal limit (which wouldn't have been a problem on our original flight as we would have purchased it at the arrival international airport on arrival) My main concern is the wasted 24 hours of my life and that they wanted to charge me. I thought this wouldn't be an issue due to the changes. On top of that I told the check-in lady how I was unhappy and that I would be giving jetstar a bad review and she gave me smart arse comments such as 'at least you don't have cancer, then you would actually have something to worry about' and 'you try working here earning $23 an hour and and listening to customers problems' and 'this is a budget airline, what do you expect' I don't want to stress out the check-in lady but I am out of pocket 24 hours of my life and plans destroyed All that, over 2 kg over in hand luggage. Sort it Jetstar!

Two flights, two and from Bali, with Jetstar in January. Both ran very smoothly without any issues. Yes, leg room was a bit restricted but not as much as other budget airlines. On board food/drink selection was adequate for a short 3 hour flight and I came prepared with my own entertainment which made the time pass quickly. Book tickets with a budget airline with eyes open and it shouldn't be an issue. Will fly with Jetstar again. My ratings are based on past experiences with other budget airlines and it would be unfair to compare Jetstar with non-budget airlines.

Warning - Flier beware! Jetstar imposes a highly restrictive and inflexible baggage weight policy that is designed to maximize their profit at the expense of customer satisfaction. I’m speaking as someone who has flown with many airlines all over the world for over 2 million Km. Jetstar does clearly articulate the requirements that must be met to avoid their unreasonable excess baggage weight fees, but if you are unaware and are over their limit, you will be unpleasantly surprised. In my case, my carry on bag was 12 Kg, 5 Kg above their 7 Kg maximum. I could not fit anymore items into my checked baggage to offset this weight. So, Jetstar charged me, not for the excess (5 Kg), but for the whole 12 Kg at NZD 15/Kg or NZD 180! This was far more than the cost of my seat on the flight from Queenstown, NZ to Auckland. The whole experience was the only blemish on a fantastic 2-week trip throughout New Zealand. My suggestion to future Jetstar passengers: travel with a portable luggage scale or consider flying with an airline that is more customer-oriented than Jetstar.

Absolute biggest bunch of money grubbers. Word of warning, they will weigh your CARRY-ON at the gate. Doesn't matter if you have a regulation-size suitcase. I got pulled up for my bag being 1.5kg over the 7kg limit. They then weighed my satchel bag (man bag) and suitcase and insisted I pay the $60 fee to check-in my carry-on luggage. This would NEVER happen in America or Canada. They trust that as long as your carry-on is within acceptable dimensions, the weight isn't such a big deal. Otherwise they'd be charging the overweight and obese double the price to fly, although I'm sure Jetstar would if they could!! To make it worse, the young gate attendant was real smug about it all as well. She's clearly used to people aiming verbal abusive her way about these rip-off fees. I feel sorry for her, that her job has caused her to become so jaded to the plight of low-cost passengers. No one likes to have the stress of excess fees thrown their way while they're boarding a flight. On my faithful day, I made the mistake of checking in online, meaning my luggage wasn't weighed until the gate. Plus the Gate in Terminal 4 started boarding passengers as soon as the Gate opened. Meaning by the time you find out which gate you need to go to, and get to the gate, everyone's already boarding. So there's no time to swap shoes, put on extra clothes and all the other usual tricks to make the weight limit. The pressure is on to pay those grubs the $60, for the 5 min it takes someone to put your tiny bag on the plane. Stay away. By the time you include their absurd luggage prices, plus meal, drink & entertainment, you might as well fly Qantas!!!

My husband and I recently travelled on Jetstar from Townsville on the 7.45pm flight to Melbourne. We found it to be a very enjoyable experience - due mainly to two of the crew, Chi and Huss. JQ127 ADL-DPS A320 VH-VQS This is one of the newer A320's with the thinner seats, so after 2 hours its about as comfortable as sitting on a park bench. But apart from that this was a standard flight. Pre paid meals are delivered first, then the food for purchase and drinks are offered. I opted for prepaid meals and went with the vegetarian option, which is normally ok. This time it was something akin to wood shavings and cream sauce, but the cake and coffee were fine. Arrival into DPS was delayed due to head wind, on arrival we found out 25 bags were left in Adelaide. Ringing JQ the following morning confirmed the bags were now heading to DPS via MEL, but didn't arrive until the following morning. Staff and service on-board was fine, even the luggage drama was dealt with in a timely manner once the issue had been acknowledged online.

JQ128 DPS-ADL A320 VH-VGQ One of the older (7 years) A320's so it has the thicker seats than the newer ones. A bit more padding making the trip home at bit more enjoyable. Not that it was a long flight, just over 4.5hours. JQ have just changed the times they flight ADL-DPS-ADL so it means for the next 3 months flights leave ADL in the morning and return to ADL in the evening. Making a better trip for both staff and pax. I hated the short overnight flights and never slept, so was looking forward to this trip. Service was great, the change in the times suits the staff and they were happy. Prepaid meals served first then buy on board, I'd prepaid a vegetarian option on the way to DPS and it was horrid, so had little hope with the fish meal I'd picked on the way home. But it was really nice, in fact better than on some "full service carriers". With meal service closed the staff chatted to people about the new flight times encouraging pax to contact JQ and see if it could become a standard. For me its a winner, I didn't have to waste a day or pay for late check out. Nice one JQ, please keep the day ADL-DPS flights.

Flew on Jetstar from Brisbane-Bali in their 787 Dreamliner. Once at checkin we found that my mums passport was invalid which meant she couldn't fly that day. Jetstar was really helpful and rebooked her on the next flight for a fee of only $80! Onboard the food was very good. Being in business class the cabin was in a 2-3-2 configuration which meant the seats lacked space. Though the seats were still very comfortable. The staff were very nice and friendly. The only bad side of this aircraft was the in-flight entertainment which had only a small selection of movies and T.v programs. Overall the business class seat was definitely worth the $500 that we payed!

Very underwhelmed by the whole experience. This is not Business Class in my view, but a slightly glorified Premium Economy. We found that in our circumstances, the practice of prioritizing Business Class passengers doesn't happen in some cases. Also, unless you sit in the very front row of Business, it's extremely difficult to stand up and get to the isle if the person in front has their seat reclined. You have to ask the person next to you to move from their seat, which is awkward if they're asleep and you have to wake them up during the flight. The 787 Dreamliner is a good aircraft though which was a redeeming point. EDITORS COMMENT: Remember this si a low cost carrier so it will be a low cost version of Business Class. You are correct in saying it is more like a Premium Economy

I couldn't disagree more with the BIAS negative review JETSTAR received as the worst Airline Carrier. I have flown with JETSTAR for years travelling throughout AUS, mostly Sydney to Brisbane, or Gold Coast, or Sunshine Coast. The ticket counter people, crew and ground support are always crisp n fresh in their uniforms, the flight attendants are always friendly and genuine. I've never had a bad experience and I am a picky sales man with decades of endlessly trying to please consumers and clients. If you want a dogs breakfast airline to travel on, I highly recommend AIR CANADA, their motto is "we're not happy until you're not happy!"
