The flight to Laos with Jin Air was fine. The lack of customer service when I was leaving inspired me to review. My phone was smashed and credit card stolen in Vang Vieng. My 2 debit cards didn't work at the ATM despite checking with my bank. Thankfully I had enough KIP to get to Vientiane with a little leftover to get to the airport. I waited 6 hours for the counter to open. At 8PM I explained my situation to the check-in reps. To change my flight I needed $80 USD cash, despite my debit cards not working and my credit card being stolen. I was told I couldn't get on a flight unless I paid. They told me to try the 3 ATMs, which I did. Bringing all the invalid receipts to the counter, I begged for help. I was told to go to Western Union and have money sent next day. Again I said I had no money to get there, but there was nothing they could do. In an emergency, I was told I had to wait 3 days. 3 days without money, shelter, and food, in a foreign country alone. I cannot speak for the whole company, but the VTE branch cared about 1 thing, and it wasn't me. I will never be flying Jin Air again after the way I was treated at my lowest, most desperate point.
