Flew Air NZ from Melbourne to LA via Auckland and return from San Francisco via Auckland.
Aircraft to and from Auckland from Aus were an A320 and B777 respectively. Both were clean and comfortable for the 3.5 hour flight, and whilst there was a little bit of turbulence on the way back to Melbourne, our pilot and crew leader both used the PA to inform passengers of it well in advance and advised us to be seated when approaching air pockets.
Aircraft to and from Auckland were both B777-200s that were comfortable with large IFE systems. The touch screen food ordering was fast and efficient and I received my orange juice in less than two minutes. Seats were comfortable and it was easy to sleep or be entertained. Crew were friendly and courteous.
On the flight from Auckland to LAX, the passenger next to my partner and me in the aisle was quite ill – the flight crew were attentive to his needs and checked up on him often, offering water and medication – truly beyond what was expected of them
No wonder they have deserved best airline for three years running. Highly recommended. Flown them before, will fly them again.
