Vietjet marked the start of the Lunar New Year with the launch of a direct route linking Ho Chi Minh City to Chengdu, offering Asian travelers a fresh travel option for the Spring holidays. This new service enhances air connectivity between Vietnam and China, fostering trade and tourism in the region.
The inaugural ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport welcomed Mr. Wei Huaxiang, Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Michael Hickey, Vietjet’s Chief Operating Officer. They warmly greeted passengers on the first flight, extending best wishes for Vietjet’s new operation in the auspicious Year of the Dragon.
Operating once daily, the Ho Chi Minh City – Chengdu route features seven round-trip flights weekly, with each leg lasting over four hours. Flights depart from Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 19:10 (local time) and arrive at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) at 00:15 the next day (local time). From Chengdu, flights depart at 00:50 (local time) and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 03:55 (local time).
