Vietjet marked the start of the Lunar New Year with the launch of a direct route linking Ho Chi Minh City to Chengdu, offering Asian travelers a fresh travel option for the Spring holidays. This new service enhances air connectivity between Vietnam and China, fostering trade and tourism in the region.

The inaugural ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport welcomed Mr. Wei Huaxiang, Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Michael Hickey, Vietjet’s Chief Operating Officer. They warmly greeted passengers on the first flight, extending best wishes for Vietjet's new operation in the auspicious Year of the Dragon.

Operating once daily, the Ho Chi Minh City - Chengdu route features seven round-trip flights weekly, with each leg lasting over four hours. Flights depart from Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 19:10 (local time) and arrive at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU) at 00:15 the next day (local time). From Chengdu, flights depart at 00:50 (local time) and land in Ho Chi Minh City at 03:55 (local time).

Unbeatable fares starting from just USD0 (*) every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are now available on www.vietjetair.com or the Vietjet Air mobile app, applicable to all Vietjet’s international routes. Passengers will also receive complimentary SkyCare travel insurance for a secure journey.

Ho Chi Minh City, situated in southern Vietnam, serves as the economic and transportation hub, offering iconic landmarks like Ben Thanh Market, the Central Post Office, and the Independence Palace, along with authentic Vietnamese cuisine. It also serves as a gateway to Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Da Lat, and more destinations thanks to Vietjet’s extensive network.

Chengdu, located in Southwestern China, is the capital city of Sichuan Province and a significant gateway connecting major cities domestically and internationally. It is famous for its pandas and Jiuzhaigou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Besides the Chengdu – Ho Chi Minh City route, Vietjet operates daily flights from Shanghai to Ho Chi Minh City and various other routes between Vietnam and Chinese cities.

On the first morning of the Year of the Dragon, Vietjet passengers across Vietnam airports received warm greetings, best wishes, and lucky money from Vietjet leaders, staff, and cabin crews, spreading joy and happiness for Tet holiday reunions.

Passengers flying with Vietjet can enjoy Vietnamese and international cuisines served by professional cabin crews aboard modern and eco-friendly aircraft.
