Bali move aside, Vietnam is calling, and from November Western Australians will have two Vietnamese Airlines - Vietjet and Vietnam Airlines - offering services to one of Asia's fastest-growing tourist markets and beyond.

Low-fare Vietjet has announced it will fly to Perth twice a week with 230-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft from Ho Chi Minh City starting on November 21.

The flight VJ080 departs Perth at 11.20 pm and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 05.05 am on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The return flight VJ081 departs at 13.35pm and arrives in Perth at 9.20 pm.

To launch the service Vietjet is offering fares for $0.00 excluding taxes and charges and excluding national holidays and peak season.

The fare offer is for fares booked online on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week between August 10, 2023 and March 31, 2024.

Standard one-way fares from Perth to Ho Chi Minh start at $380.37 for no frills to $476.37 for the Deluxe economy product which includes meals and drinks, 40kg of checked baggage, seat selection, and change of flight.

The airline, one of the fastest growing in Asia, operates flights to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and has been expected to add Perth for some time.

The service will offer a very attractive alternative to Bali for West Australians.

The award-winning airline operates a young fleet of 84 aircraft and has another 323 on order.

Vietjet serves 59 destinations and has a perfect safety record with a seven-star rating from AirlineRatings.com.

The other operator, seven-star-rated, Vietnam Airlines has confirmed to AirlineRatings.com it plans to come to Perth once documentation is complete.

Airport insiders tell AR, that it is expected Vietnam Airlines will start flights in December to Hanoi with the 305-seat Airbus A350 aircraft.

The flight will also leave Perth late at night for an early morning arrival in Vietnam.

Vietnam Airlines is a full-service airline and has excellent connections -and fares- to Europe and the US.

In Europe, Vietnam Airlines flies to Paris, Berlin, and Frankfurt and also has services to London.

The airline also operates to San Francisco.

Throughout North Asia, the airline has an extensive network serving 22 destinations in China, five in Japan, including both Tokyo airports, three in South Korea and three in Taiwan.

Domestically, Vietnam Airlines serves 24 destinations.

Vietnam Airlines will operate the 305-sest Airbus A350-900 in a three-class configuration of 29 business class seats, 36 premium economy and 240 economy seats.

The arrival of the two Vietnamese Airlines is certain to change travel patterns and offer travellers fascinating new options and prices.
