Singapore Girl, you have lost none of your charm.

It’s been a while I know, and no, I haven’t found another love – just been busy.

They were my first impressions when I took my first Singapore Airlines flight in some years.

Nothing has changed – the charm offensive is still alive and well, starting with the lounge in Perth for my flight to Singapore.

Yes, I was a guest attending an airline conference so I watched keenly for the staff’s interaction with other guests.

Nothing but courtesy and that doesn’t surprise as you don’t get to win award after award without doing a lot of things right.

My chariot to Singapore was a Boeing 787-10 with the new regional business class seating.

The seating is very good, although at 194cm, a tad tight for me for a snooze, and I had to keep reminding myself this is a regional configuration, not long-haul.

Once seated champagne and juice was offered and of course, I went for the French bubbles – that’s what you do in business class isn’t it?

After take-off, another bubbles and some amazing Singapore Chicken Satay with spicy peanut sauce which the airline has been serving for as long as I can remember and that is a long time.

Still a great appetizer.

Next came the Panzanella Salad with Prawns and capers.

I could live on prawns and capers so that was another winner.

The main course was a choice of four dishes and I opted for the Braised Lamb Neck with pickled carrot and Korean Chili Oil.

It was excellent and yet another big tick.

The banquet concluded with a selection of cheeses and Chocolate Obsession Ice Cream.

The service was effortless and continuous as one has come to expect from Singapore Airlines.

I tried to fault the product and delivery but I couldn’t.

At every touch point, it was excellent.

Singapore Girl, you haven’t changed a bit!
