Spanish low-cost airline Vueling has started offering treats for pets as part of their buy-on-board menu it said on Monday (December 4th 2023).

Vueling will be the first airline to offer such an initiative in Europe and likely the leaders in a lucrative 'pets in the sky' market.

Vueling, which allows passengers to travel with pets of up to eight kilograms (17.64 lb), has developed the concept jointly with Belgian pet food maker Edgard & Cooper and the menu will include chicken bars and beef bites priced at 3.50 and 5.50 euros, respectively.

Key points when traveling with a pet on Vueling

  • Each passenger can travel with one pet and only 5 pets are allowed per flight. Only 2 pets per flight are allowed on flights operated by Iberia.
  • This service is only available for flights operated by Vueling and Iberia.
  • You can carry food for your pet inside your hand luggage ( or buy one of Vuelings new pet snacks!)
  • You must not take your pet out of the pet carrier until you have disembarked.
  • This service is not available on flights to/from the UK.
  • Cost is 50 Euro for domestic flights and 60 Euro for International and Canary Islands
