The announcement this week that Bamboo Airways will pull out of Australia is just one part of the bigger picture for Bamboo and its restructure. The carrier will discontinue all long-haul flights and attempt to sell its Boeing 787 aircraft.

Bamboo Airways shared in a press release it has been actively engaged in discussions and negotiations with its partners to redesign the fleet's structure and size, with a focus on economic considerations. The aim is to standardize the fleet, reduce fuel consumption, and promote environmental protection. The airline is also expanding its potential lessor network, collaborating closely with Boeing and Airbus to fulfill previously agreed-upon aircraft purchase agreements in preparation for a proactive fleet increase from 2024 onward.

Regarding its route network, Bamboo Airways is adjusting the frequency of certain routes with low passenger demand while increasing operations on high-demand routes. The carrier plans to primarily serve key domestic routes, with a strong emphasis on trunk routes such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. Additionally, the airline will extend its services to domestic tourist routes with high demand and international routes to Southeast Asia.

The airline has also recently upgraded its booking system to be more in line with the functionality and ease offered by other airlines

Whilst an official 'last flight' date has not been set, passengers are unable to book tickets for the airline long haul effective immediately. There are however still an ample number of options to travel to/from Vietnam with carriers Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet who are all ramping up operations and frequency to and from Australia.
