South African Airways has restructured into a much smaller network, with an ageing fleet of Airbus A320s, A330s and A340s flying from Johannesburg across Africa, to Perth and to Sao Paulo. A flat-bed business cabin and reasonable catering are available on the A330. The fleet is older leased equipment and cabin condition varies between aircraft. Frequencies are far lower than before, all of which holds the rating down.
