About Air Seychelles

Air Seychelles, the national carrier of the Republic of Seychelles, was established in the late 1970s following the merger of Seychelles Airlines and Inter-Island Airways. Being strategically positioned in the Indian Ocean, the airline plays a fundamental role in supporting the archipelago’s tourism industry, vital to its economy. Over the years, it has evolved from a purely regional service provider to an international carrier, aiming to connect the islands with major global destinations. The essence of Air Seychelles has always been to embody the spirit of the islands, showcasing its unique Creole hospitality both in the air and on the ground. The fleet of Air Seychelles is designed to meet the diverse needs of its operations, comprising aircraft suitable for both international routes and shorter, regional flights that connect the various islands of Seychelles. This flexibility allows the airline to efficiently manage its schedule and cater to both high tourist influxes and the transportation needs of locals. The choice of aircraft has historically reflected an emphasis on safety, reliability, and environmental considerations, aligning with global aviation standards and practices. This strategic selection enhances the airline’s capability to provide frequent and convenient connections across its network, fostering accessibility to and from the archipelago. Air Seychelles offers a range of services that highlight its commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. In-flight services include enhanced dining experiences that capture the culinary essence of the Seychellois culture, complemented by a selection of international dishes. The airline also pays particular attention to on-ground services, providing seamless connectivity at the airport, including lounge access and expedited check-in procedures for a more personalized travel experience. Through a dedication to innovation and customer care, Air Seychelles continues to enhance its service offerings, ensuring that each journey is as enjoyable as the destination itself.

Title: ZipAir “Business” via Travelocity – Misleading Disclosure, Credit Card Dispute Succeeded Body: I want to share a cautionary experience regarding ZipAir “Business” class tickets purchased through an online travel agency (Travelocity). ZipAir operates as a low-cost carrier, and its “Business” product differs significantly from traditional long-haul business class. When booked through Travelocity, several important limitations were not clearly disclosed at the time of purchase, leading to reasonable consumer confusion. Key points travelers should be aware of: ▪ ZipAir “Business” is not a full-service business class product ▪ No blanket, pillow, TV, not even a free bottle of water. ▪ Meals and other services are paid add-ons ▪ Lounge access is not included at NRT ▪ Baggage require additional fees ▪ OTA Travelocity listings do not explain these limitations before purchase After the booking, the gap between expectations and the actual product became clear. Attempts to resolve the issue directly with Travelocity was unsuccessful. A credit card dispute was filed on the basis of misleading or insufficient disclosure, and the card issuer ruled in favor of the customer, issuing a full refund the disputed amount. Takeaway: If you are considering ZipAir “Business” class, do not assume it is comparable to traditional business class. If booking through an OTA, read all disclosures carefully; in this case of Travelocity, it did not specify at all about the missing services. Posting this so others can make an informed decision.
